October 30, 200619 yr The next Frank Miller graphic novel to be made into a movie. It revolved around 300 BC and the story of the 150 or so Spartans who held back the thousands of warriors in an invading army. It's early to tell if it'll be good and it's NOT Robert Rodrigez behind the helm. But, it has all the other blue screen/special effects Sin City goodness. Trailer above.
October 30, 200619 yr I saw this as a preview before and it looked kinda cool. BUT I probably won't like it because I totally hated Sin City.
October 30, 200619 yr I read 300 a few weeks ago, it was pretty damn good. I'm definitely going to see this.
October 30, 200619 yr Author I read 300 a few weeks ago, it was pretty damn good. I'm definitely going to see this. Dang. Did you buy it? Or, at the least, do you know how much it is? It's one of the few things of Miller's I don't own.
October 30, 200619 yr I saw it for $30 at Barnes and Nobles the other day. I'm definitely seeing this the day of. I'm a huge Sparta/Ancient Greece/Persian Wars fan, and the Battle of Thermopylae is my favorite battle of all time. Plus, the trailer looks bad ass and I loved Sin City. "This. Is. SPARTA!!!!!"
October 30, 200619 yr Gerard Butler is going to pwn the sh*t out of this movie. He can be such a badass.
December 10, 200619 yr I didn't care for Sin City and I kind of doubt I'm going to like this, but I might see it.
December 10, 200619 yr Author Ugh, what's with all of the yelling and shouting and that blue screen crap? FIXED. It's a war movie, of course there's yelling and screaming. Gee.
December 10, 200619 yr What blue screen? And I think it's a safe assumption that the Spartans, a people born into being a soldier, liked to yell.
December 10, 200619 yr I personally think it looks awful and won't be seeing it, so you all have fun. They might as well scrap the whole project now. I read 300 a few weeks ago, it was pretty damn good. I'm definitely going to see this. Dang. Did you buy it? Or, at the least, do you know how much it is? It's one of the few things of Miller's I don't own. Downloaded a .cbr of it (compressed comic book file). Probably not the ideal way to view something with artwork as large as this, but I liked it.
December 10, 200619 yr What blue screen? Are you joking?Yeah. I guess I don't see it as a big deal is all. My only complaint about either of the two trailers is that they didn't fight a million Persian soldiers, it was 10,000. But that's not really a big deal.
December 12, 200619 yr Sweet, hopefully that means you stay out of this thread from now on. I'll be seeing this movie.. the trailer in the theater looked pretty sweet.
December 13, 200619 yr What blue screen? Are you joking?Yeah. I guess I don't see it as a big deal is all. My only complaint about either of the two trailers is that they didn't fight a million Persian soldiers, it was 10,000. But that's not really a big deal. It's an adaption of a graphic novel, not the historical event. Not busting balls, but you have to keep that in mind.

December 20, 200619 yr I'll be seeing solely because it's based on the Battle of Thermolpolye. I've been hoping they'd make a movie about this and I'm just hoping they don't screw it up.
