Mission Accomplished

We went to Wrigley, where supposidely the "best fans" reside. We won a spectacular game 1.

Tonight, their offense exploded, but we saw that Prior is not unhittable. We put some good wood. If a strong Beckett, Willis, Pavano, Penny, or Redman wouldve pitched, we wouldve probably won the game

But lets not look at that.We did what we were aiming for. We are done with Chi-Town.

Now we go back home, proud of a great accomplishment.

We do not want to get on a plane Sunday night. We will not get on a plane Sunday night.

We control our own fate.

LETS GO MARLINS!!

and most importantly....

BELIEVE

(Not to mention that a 9-8 loss hurts a heck of a lot more than a 12-2 loss, IMO.)

The Pro will be a-rockin this weekend!

Wrigley & 38,000?? That ain't nothin'. Let's see how they like 67,000 at the Pro!

Any Cubs fans that show up will wish they'd stayed home.

Cubs fans are partying outside of Wrigley as if they just won the World Series, according to the postgame show on the local Fox station. See how cocky they are? Yesterday, they all but wanted to fire Dusty Baker. Now, they think Bud Selig should just declare the Cubs World Champions.

That reminds me of that Monday night Bears-Dolphins game at the Orange Bowl back in 1985. I want the same damn thing to happen to the Cubs three times this weekend. Kill them!

I bet alot of peoples attitudes would be differnt if the games where reversed. I mean Prior pitching game 1 beats us 12-2 and we come up big in game 2. Whats the differnce. a 1-1 series is a 1-1 series.

I am crossing my fingers that we win Friday. I have a feeling that we will. I feel confident. :D

That's right dudes... just get your pitchers in shape and you can win... the fish scored a few runs off Prior, they will score off Wood... Redman pitched well against the Cubs this season, right? GO FISH IN GAME 3!

Kid "walk" is due for one of those games where he implodes and gets wild. I hope the Marlin hitters stay patient and light him up.

Well here's one way to look at it. It's now a 5 game series and we have the homefield advantage.

That's exactly right. Wood can be beat, we've seen it before. The hitters just need to be patient and he'll come to them. They don't have anyone after Wood, just Clement and Estes :lol so all is well.

I BELIEVE!!!

GO MARLINS

Not to anyone's surprise here in Chicago, no one is addressing the fact the Marlins accomplished exactly what they needed to do in the first two games of the series:

1. Steal a game in Chicago to take home field away from the Cubs and go into Miami with series even at 1-1.

2. Set the tone for the series, with aggressive and balanced play, and a disciplined approach at the plate.

Even in last nights loss - Prior only struck out 5 yet threw 118 pitches (83 strikes) to 31 hitters. It showed that even with the big lead the Marlins battled him with a disciplined hitting approach to make good contact with the best pitch they could(not wildly swing to hit a 600 ft. home run like the Braves did), and did not back down. They just could not get the timely hit. The Cubs offense was the story and that is only beacuse Penny could not hit his spots. The Cubs are not that explosive an offensive team capable of derailing a pitcher who is on.

If the Marlins take the same approach to Wood, and Redman can pitch well, you will see a tight well played ballgame whose tempo will be dictated by the Marlins. Pierre and Castillo nedd to get on more frequently that is the biggest key.
