February 19, 200719 yr I went to bosox spring training today. I had a great time. Got autographs from Youk, Piniero, Kason Gabbard, and #41 (?). I got to talk to Johnny Pesky, really neat, he stood and talked to 6-7 of us. He was talking about Ted Williams ("he had the greatest eyesight in a person I've ever seen, he could spot a mosquitoe a mile away"), his wife, child (now 40 years old, was adopted by Johnny when he was 4 months old)..etc. I got some pictures, will post later when I have time.
February 19, 200719 yr On Saturday I took Little SoFlaFish and Even Littler SoFlaFish to our annual pilgrimage to Jupiter for Pitchers & Catchers Report. We hung out on the Cards side for most of the day. We'll be back on the Marlins side this Monday. Little SoFlaFish getting her book autographed by Rick Ankiel. Cardinals pitcher Chris Narveson getting some instruction. Narveson then graciously signed Little SoFlaFish's Cardinals A to Z book. Jose Oquendo dropping some knowledge on some minor leaguers. (From left to right) Dan Uggla, Reggie Abercrombie (but I could be wrong), and Jeremy Hermida were running wind sprints later in the day (thank my camera's zoom lens for that one). More to come....

And I love the pictures Holly! I can't wait to fly down and catch some games on my Spring Break!
February 19, 200719 yr Continuing to add to Holly's thread (and best to put all Spring pictures in one thread), today was when I took Little SoFlaFish and Even Littler SoFlaFish to Marlins camp. For the third straight year, attendance has been sparse, giving my kids great access to watch practices and chat up with the players. Here is but a sampling of the pictures I took today: Freddi Gonzalez in high spirits as the team begins its stretching exercises on a chilly Monday morning. Dontrelle Willis and Matt Treanor during morning stretching. Scott Olsen doing some long toss in early morning workouts. Pitchers getting some throws in. Olsen and Willis kept messing around during fielding drills. February 19, 200719 yr my red sox ST pictures: the ST field, notice all the japanese media by home plate the ST field some of the players coming out of the locker room Kevin Youkilis and I Johnny Pesky!!... ...he likes to talk pitchers drill on covering first base..this pitcher learns to use two hands this guy's got it down pitchers warming up...75% of the fans were japanese, shouting Dice-K! Varitek practicing throwing down to second base....he's got a good arm

February 20, 200719 yr what kind of camera do you have soflafish? your pic's are really clear, esp. the last one of olsen and willis I have a Canon PowerShot S3 IS 6.0 mega pixels with 12x zoom lens (6.0 - 72.0mm) Hey Stork. How hard is it to get game day tickets over there? I'm going to be there on March 11 and I didn't even bother trying to get game day tickets, I just bought them in January when they were on sale.

He said some of the games may have a few seats open. He also mentioned if you go to the stadium box office(don't call or go online) around 9:00 the day of the game, that you might be able to get tickets. The players get 50 tickets a piece and if they don't use them, they'll turn them back in.

I'm going to be there on March 11 and I didn't even bother trying to get game day tickets, I just bought them in January when they were on sale. Well I didn't. We still haven't confirmed our plans yet on if we are going to travel every Sunday to follow the team. I fail to see how this is an answer to the question. Hey Stork. If we can't get tix either through the box office or a scalper we will probably just make a day of it and enjoy a nice drive up the coast. A nice long leisurely circle. Sometimes playing "tourist" can be a pretty relaxing day.
February 21, 200719 yr Author Well, I just got back from Jupiter today. There were tons of kids there today, I expected it to be almost kidless because its a Wednesday.
