Lefty for bullpen next season...

Featured Replies

This may be a bit early seeing as the Marlins have post-season left to play but....

Seeing as how the Marlins are lacking a true lefty in the bullpen (Urbina can get out lefties but he will be gone and Tejera can't get them out.) how about bringing back Felix Heredia? He is considerably cheap(600,00$)and he can get out lefties (very good SO ratio against left-hand batters.)....It's a bargain.

Not too early for THIS topic.

I agree with you 100%. We need a specialist, especially a cheap one, and El Gato Flaco would be perfect.

Here are some lefty bullpen arms (2004 Free Agents):

* - Team Option

Steve Avery

Doug Creek*

Jeff Fassaro*

Vic Darensbourg

Mark Guthrie

Felix Heredia

Graham Lloyd

Kent Mercker

Mike Myers

Darren Oliver

Authur Rhodes

Jesus Sanchez

yorkis perez, anyone?

seriously, tejerible has to go. and dont even think about vic or jesus.

i'd go for heredia, assuming 600k is the right number.

yeah, speaking of the lefty topic...

Why does Jack keep throwing Tejera at left-handed batters? They've consistently hit .400 against him this season, and yet Jack insists on using him. Ed Kaplan isn't the only one who thinks this is retarded. It's just mind-numbingly dumb.

Jack brought Tejera in to face two left-handed batters last night. That hit he gave up was the winning run for the Cubs... ARGH

Felix will not be leaving NY, Joe Torre is very fond of him and he has passed another former Fish Chris Hammond on the depth chart for lefties from the pen...

im sure someone will step it up next year ( phelps, tejerable, possibly a rookie? )

seriously, tejerible has to go.

He has great stuff.

He doesn't need to go, but we can't use him as a specialist.

next year we should call Tejerable the Janitor because his a** is only coming in to MOP UP...

sorry for the cheesy joke :lol

how long does Steve Avery plan on staying around? how old is he?

bleh dumb topic

you dont worrry about this now. and in the begining of the season is not when u need the lefty. it is nice to have, but when u go to a playoff run is when u make the deal for the situational lefty. other than that you can just get any dumb lefty FA. you worry about it more when ur in contention and who knows if marlins will be next yr.

Jesus Sanchez

I haven't seen him in a while. How has he been doing? What team? Sanchez played for the Rockies this year, but only threw 8 innings.

why dont we get that Randy Johnson guy i hear hes good...

I like Steve Avery

You gotta wonder how much he's got left, though. The Phillies went with Dan Plesac this year, he was fine for the most part...
