April 4, 200719 yr From what I understand BBTN is going to talk about Miggy (After the break). Hopefully its for more than 20 seconds.
April 4, 200719 yr What were they saying? Nothing all that earth shattering. Just a little bit of commenting on how he's started the season off on a tear and how his career path is in line with numerous hall of famers.
April 5, 200719 yr there's nothing they can say that we don't already know. to them and a lot of the viewers its new because they are obsessed with the yankees, mets and red sox, which makes me want to vomit.
April 5, 200719 yr Is it me or is Miggy even fatter this year? I was watching the 2003 world series dvd last night and what a difference! He's sure kicking ass though.
April 5, 200719 yr If he continues batting this way I dont care how big he is.. well as long as he isnt too big
April 5, 200719 yr He does look bigger than even last year. I've been reading, however, that he came into spring training in great shape, so I guess it's muscle? Also, I know it's only 3 games into the season, but I love to see this: Cabrera: ? Ranks 1st in NL in BA (.700) ? Ranks 1st in NL in RBI (6) ? Ranks 1st in NL in BB (5) ? Ranks 1st in NL in OBP (.800) ? Ranks 1st in NL in SLG (1.500) ? Ranks 1st in NL in OPS (2.300) ? Ranks 2nd in NL in R (5) (Hanley's first)
April 5, 200719 yr I have three words for the Marlins FO... SIGN HIM NOW!!!! Yup he is our best player it would be a shame to me if we let him walk.
April 5, 200719 yr Miguel's the greatest player to ever wear a Marlin uniform and we should be thankful for every minute we get to see him play here. Hopefully, we can keep him, but we probably won't, so we should value the time we get to watch him now.

April 5, 200719 yr Yea Seriously Cabs has to be in the best shape of his life. This year will be fun.

April 5, 200719 yr Mhm, and they'll replace him with a nobody cuz Cabrera won't EVER become a yankee bastard. :thumbup :lol I can think of 100 million reasons he would. :mischief2

Whoever gets him will probably lock him for a long time. Yankees don't have the players to trade for Cabrera. I hope we sign him to a long term, but I'm realistic. I guess enjoy it while it can be enjoyed
April 5, 200719 yr I think he would be traded before he hits FA, and I don't think he will see FA. Whoever gets him will probably lock him for a long time. So my question is this; who has the goods to pull off a trade like this? I mean, a team would have to dump a ton of talent to get him and I don't think anyone can point at only one or two positions where the Marlins need help that will immediately make them a deep October team. So who can you see pulling this off and what will the Marlins get in return?

Probably two lefty rookie pitchers that come from Venezuela. :confused Seriously, I really don't know. But the Marlins do have many needs. . . No matter what, I don't think the Marlins could pull a trade that would be equal or benefit them.

I know it sounds crazy, but the DRays and Blue Jays have some good young talent. They might be able to get it done. The DRays demoted Cantu, for goodness sakes, and I don't even think they miss him!
April 5, 200719 yr I seriously doubt we trade Miggy in the near future. Locking him up is a different story, but I don't think he's going anywhere, or at least getting "sent" anywhere.

Well, what happens if you can't lock him up and you end up getting nothing in return? That would be the absolute worst case scenario.
