April 8, 200719 yr i'd give amezga the start tomorow at 2B just to give him some ab's and give uggla a "fresh start on monday. I'd move De Aza to 2nd just for tomorrow and put alfredo at 8.
April 8, 200719 yr Not to be kissing De Aza's butt all the time (I have to alittle because I have been cheering for him since the first day of spring). I wonder why Fredi put De Aza 7th in the lineup? Maybe he is building some trust in him or because Treanor is meh? I wonder if sometime this year (based on his performance) he will start batting higher in the lineup.

April 8, 200719 yr Where do you suggest they bat him? I have no clue lol .. but I remember Fredi (I think it was him) saying he would love to see Hanley bat 3rd. So that clears up lead off but this all depend on what De Aza does now. I just have high expectations for De Aza! :thumbup .
April 8, 200719 yr Joe Borchard and Jorge Julio package...any takers? I'll admit I'm not too impressed with Borchard's plate presence so far but there's no way in hell we're trading him. He gets on base. That's all that matters.
April 8, 200719 yr It would not be a very good idea, IMO, to have De Aza stealing at bats from Hammer and Jacobs each game
April 8, 200719 yr Yeah Alejandro made that fielding error (as costly as it was), but he is a rookie... nothing to do with being a rookie.... he took a terrible angle on the ball he did, but i felt he should have realized he had no shot and just kept the ball in front of him. he keeps that ball in front of him and d-train maybe goes 7 innings.
April 8, 200719 yr It scares me a bit that the best defensive player on the team is Miguel Cabrera. Uggla?
April 8, 200719 yr :lol in fairness to miggy he's really good when he's not acting all lazy. many of his errors are the result of lack of concentration and effort.
April 8, 200719 yr It scares me a bit that the best defensive player on the team is Miguel Cabrera. No he's not.
April 8, 200719 yr de aza is really good offensively. i really think he's going to be more than adequate. something like .275/.335/.395.
April 8, 200719 yr It scares me a bit that the best defensive player on the team is Miguel Cabrera. Uggla? Willis? :mischief2

April 8, 200719 yr It scares me a bit that the best defensive player on the team is Miguel Cabrera. No he's not. Who then? I'm dying to know. There has to be somebody better.....
April 8, 200719 yr If every other ball did not pop out of Olivo's glove, I would rate him best defensively. His arm alone is not good enough to earn him that title. that's exactly what i was thinking. he really has a cannon.

So that clears up lead off but this all depend on what De Aza does now. I just have high expectations for De Aza! :thumbup . I wouldn't be against hitting him elsewhere if he proves to be patient enough and Uggla continues to struggle. Hermida's return may or may not complicate things. I really have no idea. It would not be a very good idea, IMO, to have De Aza stealing at bats from Hammer and Jacobs each game It sounds like to me that she was more advocating taking at bats away from Uggla. If that's what she was saying, then I agree with her. Gotcha... I don't see De Aza being worthy enough to hit above up there, even with Uggla expected struggles (by some)
April 8, 200719 yr Just got back from the game. I'm starting to worry about Uggla, he's popping up alot. I think that's a sign he's trying to hit a home run every at bat. Who knows, hopefully it's just an early slump, but right now he is not looking good offensively. De Aza is very solid at the plate, his double was smoked off the scoreboard. On defense he needed to circle that ball, noty dive for it. I'm surprised the gave Rollins (who btw is short as hell) the inside the park HR instead of a De Aza Error. Julio is looking horrible. He got that first out and I was thinking to myself 'not so bad', but then...blah. I was really hoping for the cycle from Hammer...oh well. Good game overall.
April 8, 200719 yr Borchard has to go.....he's sub-MLB talent-wise....hell i'd take OMGNunez back....
April 8, 200719 yr Borchard has to go.....he's sub-MLB talent-wise....hell i'd take OMGNunez back.... that's retarded atleast he is walking besides Cody's hr, he isnt doing better

If that's what she was saying, then I agree with her. Eventually that may happen but to do it after 5 games would be nuts. I don't expect Uggla to repeat his '06 numbers but I expect him to outhit De Aza. If De Aza continues to get on base and Uggla continues to struggle then have De Aza leading off and move Uggla down to the bottom but you have to give Uggla a lot more than 5 games.
April 8, 200719 yr I didn't get to watch Game 5, but my thoughts are very plain and simple on the issue: Josh Willingham is....FABULOUS!!!
April 8, 200719 yr de aza is really good offensively. i really think he's going to be more than adequate. something like .275/.335/.395. He's gotta show he can pull the ball with some degree of regularity before you expect league average or better numbers from him. Where do you suggest they bat him? I have no clue lol .. but I remember Fredi (I think it was him) saying he would love to see Hanley bat 3rd. So that clears up lead off but this all depend on what De Aza does now.
