Cody can't hit righties anyway

thats why it's a platoon

Borchard can't hit anyone.

Ross vs righties: .202/.271/.311 over the last 3 seasons (183AB)

2006: .216/.289/.335

Borch vs righties: .231/.319/.429 over the last 3 seasons (294AB)

2006: .258/.353/.449

Since when was hitting .231 or getting on base at a .319 clip acceptable? It's better than Ross, sure, but it's still absolutely horrible. You make it sound like Ross is atrocious against righties and Borchard is worlds above him, when in fact he is MAYBE a tick ahead atrocious to horrible.

I don't know. Ask Pierre, Gonzalez, Encarnacion and Olivo

He is above him in all 3 categories and he kills him in slugging

and not to mention how big of a difference there was last season

There is only one problem....all of those players are good at defense. Borchard is awful at D as well.

I'll continue to say it....the guy is not good in all facets of the game. Marlins could have lost that game last night if Borchard was in right field instead of Ross.

Borchard's terrible....waive him....cut him.....get rid of him.....banish him to uzebekistan......he has no worth.

There's only one player that deserves to hear that, and everyone knows who that is. I personally like Borchard as a platoon player, him and Ross look just fine platooning in RF. But obviously i rather have Hermida, can't wait to see what he does when he returns back to the lineup.

well coming into tonight he had a near .400 OBP

the power will come

Screw the power, I just want him to make contact. Not only does he look awful when he swings, his judgement has looked horrible tonight.

Vargas has made everyone look horrible tonight

No, Vandenhurk has made everyone not named fielder look silly.

Vargas is just hitting his spots. He isn't fooling anyone but Amezega and Borchard, really.

:banghead

Vargas was filthy last night. It wasn't just Burchard and Amezaga, he was fooling everyone.

Again I reiterate. The strike zone was huge for everyone last night, which is why there were a lot of Ks all around. Vargas pitched well but when everything is being called a strike you have to swing at anything even in the vicinity of homeplate. Which causes people to look bad at the plate.

Borch is a solid backup.

and should never be more than a backup

Unless our starter is hurt and we don't have a bench full of outfielders.

exactly...i have no problem with joe as long as he doesnt play more than once or twice a week

On the plus side, Ross looked awesome out there last night. On the downside, Borchard looked like garbage and struck out three times.

ross is a helluva 4th outfielder to have...he is what i would like to call a "gutsy kinda ballplayer"

Thanks for making my point. What they had was that they were good at something else, whether that be defense (Gonzalez), strong arm (Olivo), speed (Pierre) or a set of tools (Encarnacion). Borchard can bring a powerful bat. You can't measure a player on one or a handful of things, whether they be defense or speed or the ability to get on base. Even as people debate which is more important, they agree on this. Well, all except you.

He isn't good. 0-3, 3 Ks.....He will be out of the majors by next year like I said.

0-3 with 3 Ks.....when will you stop making excuses for him Ramp? He is NOT good. He can barely hit .200.

FLMAO! Your posts crack me up WMM!
