April 11, 200719 yr The amount of Borch hate on this board never ceases to amaze. If he has back to back solid games, all it takes to reinvigorate the Borch hate is one subpar performance. I always love how fans will bash a player based on one games performance. Try and take a look at the big picture once in a while.

In fact, now that I think about it, he is extremely similar from the left side to Hee-Seop Choi, except he doesn't hit the ball half as hard and his swing is half as sweet. But throw either a good curve, it's like matching Zito against a J/V reserve at a 1A high-school...

April 11, 200719 yr Cody is quite possibly a better hitter but who are we kidding? We have no viable options for RF right now! Borch has made some solid defensive plays tonight (and has no doubt struggled at the plate tonite) but Im getting the vibe from everyone that we have other options. Cody Ross got like 3 hits in Spring Training (and dont get me wrong, I like Cody). Does that make him a lock for RF?

Ridiculous. but Im getting the vibe from everyone that we have other options. Cody Ross got like 3 hits in Spring I think the first pitch Cody saw this season proves ST means zippo... And if that doesn't, our entire offense in general does.

The amount of unecessary Borch hate on this board, is directly related to the amount of unnecessary Borch love on this board. People stick up for this guy too much. I just don't think he's just good enough. I'd rather see guys like John Gall up here in his spot. I guess I resent the support of Joe Borchard more than I resent Joe Borchard (unless he has a performance like tonight... then I hate him more). Oh, and I don't think you ever want to look at the big picture when it comes to Joe Borchard if you are speaking on his behalf. (.209/.283/.365)

April 11, 200719 yr i dont mind joe for a 5th outfielder...thats a great role for him, especially if hermida ever gets healthy and plays like he is capable of...joe would then be relegated to very temporary duty...which is a great thing for his career
