April 24, 200719 yr In the newspaper it says the game is going to be shown on TBS. If it wasnt, why would they say that? cause sometimes they are retarded Citrus County Chronicle here in NW FL, our local newspaper, always does this type of thing with the Florida Panthers. Even though niether cable company in this area ever show Panther games on FSN. Or anywhere outside of South Florida.
April 24, 200719 yr I think this question was answered by Cape in the second post of this thread. He's our resident expert on the subject. As he said, you'll find out at gametime. Any further talk is pointless.

Any further talk is pointless. I agree, but I hate waiting until game time to find out if it is on or not. Argh... Gotta be patient.
April 24, 200719 yr Author i'm saying no. one time, i was unfairly blacked out of a braves dodgers game in san diego (dodgers games are blacked out there), and at least they fixed that before the next series, as i thought it became dodger area. there is a yankees game on fsn though.
April 24, 200719 yr I thought TBS would be blacked out in Florida only if FSN/SUN was also broadcasting the game. Since FSN/SUN is not broadcasting tonight's game, I don't think it will be blacked out on TBS.
April 24, 200719 yr It does not appear that DirecTV is blacking out the TBS coverage in Jacksonville. I went to the DirecTV program guide at their website and looked up the specific guide for my zipcode. It did not say Ch. 247 is subject to blackout.
April 24, 200719 yr In the newspaper it says the game is going to be shown on TBS. If it wasnt, why would they say that? Look at the PBP Sports section. Front page says no TV coverage. Yet go to page 2 under "On The Air" and it has it being televised on TBS. I honestly don't know how they handle this situation but I lean towards going with the resident expert on it. Couple more hours and I will find out. Ticked off at myself on this one. I didn't think I was going to be able to make the game so I gave my tix to a friend last week. Now here I am sitting in front of my 'puter at the same time I would be leaving for the game. Big ooops.
April 24, 200719 yr Watches TBS expectantly. . . Waiting for screen to go black. . . Hoping it doesn't. Looking good so far!!!!
April 24, 200719 yr Game is on TBS (Ch. 63) on Comcast Tallahassee. Game is on TBS (Ch. 138) on Dish Network in Cape Coral.
April 24, 200719 yr I don't think DirecTV has ever blacked out the game on TBS when the fish play the braves.
April 24, 200719 yr I don't think DirecTV has ever blacked out the game on TBS when the fish play the braves. yeah they do when the game is also on FSN/SUN. At least they did it the last series when the marlins played the Braves.
April 25, 200719 yr Author I don't think DirecTV has ever blacked out the game on TBS when the fish play the braves. yeah they do when the game is also on FSN/SUN. At least they did it the last series when the marlins played the Braves. i'm guessing they lifted the blackout because there was no marlins tv. and btw, rich waltz lied about vanden hurk's buddies not being able to watch the game...they did get to watch yesterday's game via the braves folks, but it's better that the didn't. but glad i went to the game instead of just sitting at home...
April 25, 200719 yr Author just went through the game thread, sounds like chip made a few mistakes, but we live with it. how did you like him tonight? him and joe simpson make a great team, huh? welcome to our world, even if it was just for one night. wish i taped the game though.
April 25, 200719 yr Chip sounds alot more like his dad now than he did when he first started announcing for the Magic. For a while there, I thought it was Skip Caray in the booth.
April 25, 200719 yr DishNetwork (BroadStar) had it on in Miami. I actually enjoy watching the Braves telecast. They are clearly pulling for the Braves, but they really talk about the other teams a lot, and heap praise/criticism when appropriate. They went ga-ga for Lindstrom's arm...and they even remarked that Borchard committed a "boneheaded" baserunning blunder when he got doubled up in the 6th/7th (I forget what innning). They are a bit "dry"...but so is Rich Waltz.
April 25, 200719 yr their color analyst admitted on a couple of the Braves' players' check swings that they should have been called strikes when the ump said they didn't go around
