well, i'm thinking about if i want to go to the game or not, and i'm thinking that if the game was going to be on tbs blackout free tonight, why should i go to the game (i'm very far and don't have tickets yet). i need a 100% confirmation of the tv situation tonight before 3 pm to get a final decision.

My gut says TBS will have the game in Metro SoFla.

hopefully, it won't be blacked out...but I won't be able to watch regardless due to work. On a side note, I don't believe blacked out games like that on sunday will encourage people to actually go to games. People who are potential fans might be enticed by watching this exciting young marlins team on TV a couple of a times before attending a game, the hardcore fans will go to games regardless.

Nope, the Marlins never used to televise games against the Braves when TBS aired it back before 1997.

 

If you live in Dade, Broward, or Monroe Counties....and have DirecTV or Dish Network....check your guide and see if tonight's game on TBS is blacked out for you or not.

I live in Lee County, no blackout on our Dish has ever been observed by me. Even when the game is on FSN/SUN and TBS, we get both.

 

I would say TBS will not be blacked out.

It's an MLB territorial rights thing. The Marlins games are blacked out on TBS. It's been like that for the entire time I've had my DirecTV subscription. My house also has Adelphia because it is done by the HOA. Until recently, the Marlins would sneak in on my cable, but as of last season, when I turn to TBS, all I get is a black screen.

They do list those games which are basically nationally televised such as Fox Saturday baseball and ESPN, but while TBS is national it is the Braves home station so they don't put that up on the Marlins home site.

I live for our games with the Braves, because here in the middle of Kansas, that's the only time I ever get to see the Marlins on television! Other than that, it's the Royals on FOX, or the Red Sox/Yankees on all 76 ESPN stations.
