Growing pains, from 19 to 23.

I probably gained 20 pounds and an inch or so between my 19th and 23rd birthdays. Starting at roughly 5'11" and 170, I went to 6'0" and 190. Granted, I'm no athlete by any means (unless we're including mathletes).

You know what else is an important difference?

109 OPS+ in 03

171(HOLYSHIT!!!11!@&$@*) OPS+ in 07

:o

Bob, where can you find these kinds of statistics?

What a difference. No doubt he's added more muscle, but also more fat. lol

Even if all muscle, it could prevent him from being nimble enough to play third

His OPS+ has improved every single year. That could be a record.

Bonds' OPS+ is 185 this season. Miggy is second in the NL. A-Rod and Ordonez in the AL also have him beat.

So he's the 4th best hitter in the entire league at the age of 24. Thats incredible.

And that's just based on OPS, even though he's a better hitter than Bonds this year.

Just checking Bonds' statistics. I didn't realize he's won 7 MVPs!!! :o

he's performing right? Then why worry, or even care?

Not defensively.

When was the last time he did perform defensively? The guy definitely has a future as an American League DH.

Obviously just my opinion, but I don't see him just becoming a DH the second he switches leagues.

I don't know if he goes to DH immediately but he certainly would shine in that role.

He's the 4th best hitter in all of baseball at the age of 24. That is pretty incredible. I wonder how high Pujols ranked as a 24 year old.

I can't tell what your point is, actually. Pujols might become the best hitter ever if he keeps it up, so of course he's better than Miguel at the same age. That doesn'tn make Miguel any less impressive.

Actually, Pujols' OPS+ as a 24 year old was similar to Miggy's this year. It was a 175.
