I agree, mostly:

1B: Marlins

2B: Yanks

SS: Yanks

3B: Marlins

*C: Yanks - Posada gets the edge b/c he can hit from either side of the plate

LF: Even (Matsui vs Cabrera)

CF: Yanks

RF: Marlins

DH: Yanks (Giambi vs Conine)

But, look at the big picture lineup and the edge goes to the Yanks. They can throw 7 lefties and 2 righties at you or 3 lefties and 6 righties without making a substitution.

I think SP and Closer also favor the Yanks, although the Fish may have a slight edge in the pen.

It should be a fun series.

I feel that a one for one position comparision is not the right way to compare these two teams. I see that they only have a definative edge at the SS position with Jeter being an A+ defensive/offensive big game type player.

They may edge us in other positions, but not by much.

I think that as a team, the Marlins have the edge. And have played better ball druing the season (Post Torborg)

1B: Marlins- Lee defintely gets the nod over nick johnson, johnson hasnt been the same since coming back from his injury.

2B: Yankees - This could be a tie if u count playoff performances soriano is stikin it up

SS: Yankees- Jeter wins this one hands down.

3B: Marlins- Lowell wins this one hands down. Boone hasnt done much in the Al since coming from the reds except for last night.

C: Marlins- Pudge for sure because of his defense and hot bat right now.

LF: Marlins- I see this one as a tie almost but go with conine with his playoff experience and if its cabs ill still give it to the marlins

CF: Yankees- Bernie too much of a bat compared to pierre.

RF: Marlins- Go with Juan Encarcion here just because the rightfield platoon doesnt really work for the yanks.

DH: Yankees- Gotta give this to Giambi.

Of course this is assuming these are the spots but even if they change 3b, lf, or rf i still think the marlins win in those positions.

Seriously JBurque? Because I would much rather face Boston's pitchers...

I didn't want to see the bald-headed wrecking crew is all. Yankee pitching is always tough but the BoSox bats have been JUICED

Guys do you realize the payroll differences between these 2 teams is absolutely Night and Day .

It makes me laugh when Yankees fans brag about a Team whos payroll rivals the payroll of three major league teams . To me there is nothing to be proud of there.

Its like routing for an all-star team . :thumbdown

So they officialy announced the positions it is goin to be cabs at lf and conine at dh, i hadnt heard anythin yet. Bernie does have the better bat when it comes to power wise but jp is the better fielder. You still have to give it to bernie.

1B-Marlins (Lee over Johnson)

2B-Yankees (Soriano narrowly over Castillo)

3B-Marlins (Lowell over Boone)

SS-Yankees (Jeter over Gonzalez)

C-Marlins (Pudge narrowly over Posada)

LF-Marlins (Cabrera narrowly over Matsui)

CF-Yankees (Williams narrowly over Pierre)

RF-Marlins (Encarnacion over Garcia)

DH-Yankees (Giambi over Conine)

Starting Pitching-Yankees, but that could change if Penny and Willis step up

Bullpen-Marlins by a lot overall, even though Rivera is better than Urbina

bahahhahahh cabrera is better than matsui in postseason big time. Pierre is better than williams this yrs. B AHAHAHAHHAHAHH

i agree with you Mags

I'll take that as a big time complement Ramp. You seem to really know your stuff when it comes to baseball.

bahahhahahh cabrera is better than matsui in postseason big time. Pierre is better than williams this yrs. B AHAHAHAHHAHAHH

1b.Marlins/Yanks- reason being there both even Lee hasnt done much all post season as has Nick.....

Lee batting 208 with 1 bomb 6 RBI's 10 strike outs, 2 walks in 11 games

Johnson batting 179 with 1 bomb 5 RBI's 6 K's and 5 walks in 11 games

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2b Marlins- how Alfonso hit 38 bombs and manages 0 in the playoffs some people just play different in the playoffs

Soriano batting 224 0 HR 7 RBI 17 K's "god damn" 1 BB 4 SB in 11 games

Louie batting 244 0 HR 3 RBI 5 K's 8 Walks "he only has almost an 100% more OBP than soriano" 2 SB in 11 games

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

SS.Yanks- they have jeter one the most best players to eva play in the post season aka Mr.November as well as Oct he gets it done the Marlins SS should not even be in the same breathe as Jeter

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3b.Marlins Lowell has only 23 AB's and 2 game winning HR's "enough said"

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

RF.Marlins- Juan E only played in NLDS where he batted 133 "No wonder why he got benched." but in the NLCS he was batting 250 and i believe was wrongfully benched, but the DH thing will be nice he be allowed to bat, it hurt watching him rot on the bench i mean he did have 94 RBI's, and yes i know what eva happens in the REG season doesnt mean s*** in the post season. but Garcia never played in the NLDS only the NLCS and that was only 5 games with 16 At Bats...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

CF. Marlins- JP is f***ing NUTZ as you all know, he is the reason the marlins score alot when him and louie get going there is no stopping us.....

JP- Batting 288 0 HR, 4 RBI's 10 RUNS, 2 SB and only 2 K's in 52 AT BATS

Bernie is batting 268 " number can be deciving, Bernie batted 400 in ALDS, but ALCS Bernie was awful batting 192" 0 HR 5 RBI 8 RUNS 6 BB " Can you say OVA RATED?????

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

LF. Marlins- Hideki was better in reg season, but in the post season he aint got s*** on Miggy...

Miggy- batting 318 3 Bombs, 9 RBI's, 10 RUNS, a SLUG % of 568 and an OPS of 943 thats f***ing Bizzzzzark.

Hideki- batting 293 1 BOMB 7 RBI's 5 RUNS a SLUG % of 463 and OPS of 797...

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

DH. Marlins- REG SEASON doesnt matter in the Post Season come you all know that?

Mr.Marlin batting 385 1 HR 5 RBI's 6 BB only 3 K's OBP of 447%, SLUG % 538%

Gambino batting 238??? 3 HR 5 RBI's 6 BB 12 K's OBP of 333% and SLG % 500..

so he hits 41 HR's and Jeff only hit 20 and has a 38 % better SLG %??

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

yes i know, i just spent 30 minz Comparing and Contrast the two teams and players and the bull s*** and eys it was worth it..... Facts are we are better we almost swpet them in 2001, but the pen blew game 3 that series i know cuz i was at 2 outta the 3 games in that series that year......

Pitching take in note NYY Strikes out alot, meaning beckett, penny, and Willis and Uggey and Fox are gonna Mound up the K's... not sounding c0cky but damn yank fans think they allready have another championship... as if there the lakers and we are the nets..... there is a f***ing reason we had the best record in MLB since may 23rd!!!!!!

BRING ON DA YANKS...... Now thats how you f***ing anylize s***

How can Bernie be ranked over JP?

I'm sorry, but Juan Pierre is the Marlins MVP of 2003. They're not in the world series w/o JP. The Yanks still won, with or w/o Williams in the line-up.

PERIOD.

did you just seriously rate Jorge Posada over Pudge Rodriguez? I mean one of these catchers is already a lock for the Hall of Fame. Guess which one it is.

Pudge is ranked up there with the greatest catchers of all time.

PERIOD.

well now that would depend on who was out there INSTEAD of Pierre now, wouldn't it?

would they still be here with Preston playing center field? would they be here with Encarnacion in center and Millar at the other corner?

I don't think it was Pierre's 60 steals that got the team into the playoffs! If you want to argue he's the team's MVP, that's fair. I disagree, but he's obviously an important player for us. To say they wouldn't have gotten here without him though.... you're assuming whoever's in CF replacing him would suck?
