July 18, 200817 yr Well, here's your first look at Watchmen. The trailer below is AMAZING. Watchmen Trailer F'ing Awesome. Dr. Manhattan looks absolutely perfect. Can't wait for this one. I was hoping to catch a glimpse of the hell ship though.
July 18, 200817 yr the trailer was amazing last night for it. The Smashing Pumpkins in the background totally kicked ass. To bad the the terminator trailer sucked.

On the one had...you have Christian Bale. Just about anything he is in, wins. On the other hand though you have ...McG?!?! Seriously?!!? The guy that is responsibile for Charlie's Angels??? hmm...then again though...I just looked at McG's IMDB profile and see that he directed the music video "Santeria" for my favorite band - Sublime. So obviously this move will kick ass.
July 18, 200817 yr the story wont be good with a differnt face. I think they should of just left it where it was.. Maybe come up with something different off of terminator, not another part of terminator.
July 19, 200817 yr I was disappointed in the Terminator teaser, as it showed absolutely nothing, and it was really seizure-inducing on the big screen.
July 19, 200817 yr I saw the Watchmen trailer on the theaters... it looks fricking amazing. To bad it doesn't come out until next year.
July 19, 200817 yr I pray that they have the guys in their original threads. Not digging the Night Owl outift. Although, I love Archimedes! They miss the point by if they don't let them age.

I thought it was spot on and if you look at this website its amazing how close they are. It shows original comic slides with the trailer shots side by side. Watchmen
July 21, 200817 yr It looks awesome. I'll watch it. I also loved The Smashing Pumpkins in the trailer.
July 22, 200817 yr yea this movie looks Krazy! Dr.Manhatan does look on point.... the comedian at first i thought was Robert Donney Jr. i had no clue about watchmen until i did my research on them and found out much as i could....... there were no cartoons on this comic.. and it only had like 13 issues...... not to mention the movie was actually suppose to be made 20 years ago....... oh well about damn time

For those who don't want to click links:
August 8, 200817 yr I am still not sure people will get it, but the recent graphic novel/comic movies allow this to be released and at least interest a lot of people.
August 9, 200817 yr After V for Vendetta, Alan Moore wants nothing to do with this movie. He even went so far as to sign his royalties over to Dave Gibbons. He claims he won't even watch it.
August 10, 200817 yr I'm pretty sure that Alan Moore doesn't like films, period. It looks like it will be better than V for Vendetta, which was a quality film (IMO).
August 10, 200817 yr I'm pretty sure that Alan Moore doesn't like films, period. It looks like it will be better than V for Vendetta, which was a quality film (IMO). The reason he hates film is because, at least in his eyes, they utterly butchered the film version of V for Vendetta. And judging from what I've seen, I don't see his opinion as unreasonable.
August 19, 200817 yr I rented the graphic novel at JFK library the other day in Hialeah and I recently finished it. One of the best pieces of literature I've ever taken in. Now I'm SUPER excited for the movie! I've come to the understanding though, that it is not possible for the film to make as big an impact on me as the graphic novel did. It's all the tiny unimportant details of the book that make it special to me, details that would never make it into the film, such as the "Under The Hood" articles at the end of some chapters. Elements like those give me a warm feeling that cements the book in my mind and in the end make it special.

Supposedly the 'comic within a comic' Tales of the Black Freighter will be released before the film on DVD, or will be on an extended DVD, or both.

Y'know, if there was one thing that I didn't find entertaining, it was Tales of the Black Freighter. Any time the black kid started reading it, I dragged through it. It was boring to me. I'm reading it for a second time as we speak, and maybe this time I'll understand the metaphor relating to the actual plot of Watchmen a little more.

According to the analysis on the Wikipedia article, it has other connections. BTW: The "Under the Hood" articles are not part of the original story, so it's to be expected that they would not tie into the movie.
