wow, i dont think the yankees have ever come back from that far in my lifetime. gotta happen one year.

man, red sox are sad. at least the braves wait until october to choke. the red sox are so impatient to choke they do it during the pennant chase.

I would love to see the Yankees overtake the Red Sox. That would be awesome. Not close to the collapse of the Yankees being up 3-0, but still a monumental collapse.

They had a 14.5 game lead actually.

Meanwhile Joba Chamberlain is throwing gasolina outta the Yanks pen. That kid is awsome.

How dare you question the Red Sox bullpen on this message board?! :o

Blasphemous!

Although in Gagne's defense (albeit slight defense), JD Drew did a Jeremy Hermida in RF and turned a single into an extra base run scoring hit.

Have you seen him?

Holy crap. 100 MPH moving fastball that he can throw wherever he wants and a vicious 90 MPH slider.

He's incredible.

Sawks up 3-1 in the 8th

Gagne gives up a 2 run homerun

And the Yankees win putting them only 4 back. Wow!

I can't believe people were actually counting them out back in May. It would just add to the list of embarrassing moments in Red Sox history.

Double digit division leads in May are blown more often then you think. This is just noticed because of the nature of the rivalry.

At certain points in July last year the Tigers had an 11 game lead over Minnesota in the standings.

The A's were down by almost 11 games in May of 2002 and came back to win the division.

BTW, I'm willing to bet a good amount of money this thread and a few responses in it wouldn't be up if Fox were around.
