What stud bullpen?

Featured Replies

The Yankees have a lot of young talent [Hughes, Clippard, et all] being developed and always have the pocketbook to bring in another starter if needed. You can't teach a guy how to close a game, though.

Also, for the record, the Yankees officially say he is going to be a starter, right? Yet, in late July they moved him to the pen down in Scranton. What does that tell you?

They moved him to the bullpen to get SOME use out of him before he reached his innings cap. What are you talking about? He was in Scranton.

Did I say he wasn't in Scranton?

They weren't just going to pop him up out of AAA and move him into the bullpen in the big leagues after starting the entire season. He needed to get his feet wet to see if he could do it (re: warming up, only pitching an inning or two, etc). It's not like they moved him to AAA and then said "Hey, look at that! That Jober Chamberleen is doing good at AAA in relief". It was planned the whole time. They needed to stop him from starting so he wouldn't reach his inning cap, otherwise he couldn't help the big league team.

That fat french f*** has now cost us 3 games.

I wonder if any trading deadline pickup has been personally responsible for losing as many games as this clown has.

$#@^#$^#$^@#$^&%$^#%@%$!!!!!!!!!!!

He was closing tonight.

There are no execuses. He f***ing blows.

3 losses in a week all by his hand. Holy f***ing sh*t.

Ouch.

Sorry my man.

Im actually very psyched that the Yankees are breathing down the Sox's neck.

Makes for a better baseball season.

Gagne is over-rated. Deal with it.

I just don't understand why teams who have everything going for them bring in an overrated veteran whose best days are behind him when they've got kids who are doing the job just fine.

Is that you JJ?

BEWARE THERE IS A SMALL CURSE....s word at about 40 secs.

I hate that man.

i do as well....

Gagne will be JUST FINE!!! so he blew a couple...so does Mariano ...........

unlike Sandy Koufax (to the fish fans that's BK Kim) the man has a TRACK RECORD.....

my feeling is the cream always rises to the top, BK only sinks to the bottom.....

OK guys, let the bashing of this answer begin.........LOL

This fat f*** may actually single handedly cost us the division.

I don't know if there has ever been a deadline pickup who has negatively effected his team as much as this ass clown has.

MOTHER FU**ER

:lol

I'll gladly volunteer to be the one to wear a tack studded condom to ram this guy's fat ass for the 4 losses.

I am honestly not suprised at Gagne's ineffectiveness.

It sucks cause the Sox are my fave AL team but he hasnt been the same guy consistently since he hid his injury from the Dodgers.

Is it true that the Red Sox are deciding between Buchholz and Gagne for the 25th spot on the playoff roster?!?!? That is ridiculous. I don't care how young and inexperienced Buchholz is, you put the better arm on the roster. If he is the stud it looks like he is, he will be FINE!

And please dear God no one say "omg omg but look what happened to Rick Ankiel!"

It is very difficult for me to not shout my pleasure at Gagne's collapse at the expence of the Bosox and benefit of the Yankees, but it just doesn't feel right. I actually have this teeny tiny little feeling of remorse for die hard Bosox fans because this is starting to look more and more like the 2nd coming of the Boston Masacre and I can see the fans starting to think - like a bad cold - the curse is back.

On the plus side, when you shake the trees like this, all the bandwagoners will start falling out. :thumbup

Not trying to be glib here; if the Red Sox are caught, how does this signing affect Theo Epstein's reputation has a "boy genious"?

The Sox are really wary of his innings cap.

It's a tough line to balance because World Series chances only come around so often, even for a big market club, but this also someone's career you are playing with.

I see no way GagMe should be on the postseason roster, but I'd be stunned if he actually was off it. Not only has GagMe sucked when he's been in, he has totally f***ed up Tito's pen management.

His long term future is as a starter. Only way I think it'd be a slam dunk for Buchholz to make it is if his spot comes at the expense of Matsuzaka's rotation turn.

IMO, no need for the Red Sox to risk injury to Buchholz in the New England fall having him on an unusual warm-up/cool-down schedule. If he's in the rotation, that's a different story.
