You favorite Marlins home run?

Featured Replies

I can recall on several occasions some pretty awesome home runs throughout the years. Some of my favorites have to be when Mordecai and Castro hit walk off extra inning home runs against the Dodgers in 2003, or when Easely and Cabrera went back to back off the foul pole in Cleveland a few years ago. Of course, there is always the Alex Gonzalez walk off in Game 4. Your thoughts?

Paul Lo Duca (who I really don't like) in his first Marlins at bat in front of an electric crowd at DS

freakin amazing

Gonzo's homer in Game 4, followed by Miggy's 2-run shot vs. Clemens.

Does any one else call that area "Gonzo's Corner"? I have always called it that since then and wondered if anyone else ever thought of it.

i was at that game. lo duca showed up in like the 5th inning, changed into uniform and hit a pinch hit homer. wouldve been amazing if not for termel sledge's grand slam later in the game off guillermo. f*cking termell sledge.

only the tv commentators

Mike Mordecai's walk off on August 13, 2003 in extra innings because I was there for it and it was awesome seeing Mordi be the hero.

Len: Mike MORDECAI DEEP LEFT!!!

Hutton: MOOOORDI! MOOOOOOOOORDI! MOOOOOOOOORDI!

when Paul's music hit (Bad To The Bone) everyone was like OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG

so cool

Gonzo's Walk off is probably the 1.

My second favorite is actually Hammer's walkoff last year off Billy Wagner. Not sure why honestly.

That's my 1 and 2 and mainly because I go to school in Jersey and hate New York fans.

Despite Gonzalez's memorable home run, I still refer to it as "Lowell Land".

I thought Lowell Land was in the club seats in left.

LoDuca's debut was just absolutely magical, the stuff of legend for real baseball towns.

Too bad Manzanillo went and ruined the evening. To this day, it's still the only post-homerun curtain call I can remember the "Marlins renaissance" crowd giving.

Oh my, I had forgotten about Manzanillo! And I believe the Marlins' fans gave Ross a curtain call after his 3-homer game last season.

For an oldie, I kinda liked Kevin Millar's ITP at Wrigley - it's the one that Sammy Sosa misplayed into a round tripper. Circa 1999.

Lowell Land is the LF corner where Mike Lowell's doubles ended up. It got the name before Mikey started hitting home runs.

If they did, then a tip of my hat, but it's a different "era" in my eyes.
