September 9, 200719 yr The Mets will open the season on the road -- again -- in 2008 when they visit the Marlins on Mar. 31 at Dolphin Stadium. At least it's an easy commute from their spring training home in Port St. Lucie straight down Route 95. It's the fourth time in five years the Mets will have kicked off the season on the road, with their only recent home opener coming in 2006. They started in Atlanta in 2004, Cincinnati in 2005 and St. Louis this season.I can only imagine they will be allowed to start at home in 2009 for Citi Field.
September 9, 200719 yr Also, where did you get this from? Whatever, Opening Day+Mets, that's going to be a good crowd.
September 9, 200719 yr any idea or any chance this might actually be a night game? if it is, im in, if not, i might not be able to make it...just wondering...too soon to know?

September 9, 200719 yr Why Kansas City again? Because of there only being 4 games in the AL West? I would assume, with a home series against KC, another road series would have to be added as well to make the # of home/road series equal, unless we arent playing one of the AL West teams.
September 9, 200719 yr Way to help the Marlins attendance baseball. KC and TB will really help attendance. Why, with South Florida being so linked to NY don't the Marlins and Yanks play every year? That would be more of a "rivalry" to South Floridans than the D-Rays.
September 9, 200719 yr apparently we're not playing the Angels or the Rangers... which confuses me... aren't we supposed to play an entire AL division as well as our interstate rivals? Meaning shouldn't we be playing the Angels, A's, Mariners, Rangers, and Rays? How did we end up with Tampa, Oakland, Seattle, and Kansas City??? Why replace both LAA and TEX with KC?

Meaning shouldn't we be playing the Angels, A's, Mariners, Rangers, and Rays? How did we end up with Tampa, Oakland, Seattle, and Kansas City??? Why replace both LAA and TEX with KC? That really sucks. I atleast pray that we get Seattle at home.

September 10, 200719 yr we get Seattle in Seattle, first time we've ever played in Seattle and Oakland
September 10, 200719 yr Mets fans smell really bad and tend to be greasy That's so true. I once sat behind these two mets fans that smelled like wet dogs and I wanted to kill myself.
September 10, 200719 yr Mets fans smell really bad and tend to be greasy That's so true. I once sat behind these two mets fans that smelled like wet dogs and I wanted to kill myself. Most Met fans also tend to be Jet fans, which is just repulsive.
September 14, 200719 yr Mets fans smell really bad and tend to be greasy That's nice. Bet fans of other teams say Miami fans are coke heads that would rather spend their $$$ on 8-balls than go to the games. KC fans are so inbred they can't find their way to the games. Philly fans would rather fight each other than sit 3 hours for a game. Wait...that one might be true. Ah yes. Stereotyping and hypocrisy are alive and well in sports.
September 15, 200719 yr we also close vs you guys the last game at shea. /tears So are you agreeing that you won't make it into the playoffs next year?
