September 30, 200718 yr ESPN.com story Looks like he's not in today's starting lineup, as well. That's ok he has very likely played his last game as a Marlin anyway. Too bad he didn't get to flatten Reyes ass
September 30, 200718 yr Considering he gave that one guy a concusion on his follow through when throwing to second base, imagine what he'd do to reyes on a full on swing. f***ing sandy alomar.
September 30, 200718 yr I assume this suspension carries over to next season. I believe thats how it works.
September 30, 200718 yr who cares, he isn't going to be here anyway and he'll either be a backup somewhere or maybe the Rays starting catcher....I can't see him starting anywhere else.....good riddance
October 1, 200718 yr who cares, he isn't going to be here anyway and he'll either be a backup somewhere or maybe the Rays starting catcher....I can't see him starting anywhere else.....good riddance What about Dioner Navarro?

Yeah, what about Dioner Navarro? He only hit .285 in the second half with 8 HR.
October 2, 200718 yr what about his WHOLE season??? What about IT DOESN'T MATTER BECAUSE HE WON'T BE A MARLIN NEXT season.
October 2, 200718 yr Why everyones so sure Olivo wont be back baffles me. When you have an owner that loathes spending $$ and a player who is not going to make hardly anything...its a working combination, no matter how awful Olivo is.

October 2, 200718 yr In what world would he come close to deserving that much $? I still think its highly unlikely he would of came anywhere near $2 mil in arbitration this past offseason, FO jumping the gun not withstanding. Being a baseball player is a wonderful thing. You can be completely terrible at your job and make out like a bandit.

October 2, 200718 yr I'm sure they'll find a cheap replacement for the Olive. Besides a Homerun here and there Olivo gave us nothing all year

Defense and calling games are key. Now, how about some passed ball stats, not to mention every throw that he had to play on a bounce somehow was never held on to.

October 2, 200718 yr A lot of teams would love Olivo as their backup. In the Marlin's case they would never pay a backup Olivo money
