November 19, 200718 yr So, Lloyd Carr is officially out. Here is hoping that the Les Miles rumors are enough to trip up LSU in one of their final two games. Three games I'm looking forward to: Texas @ A&M. 3:30 on Friday. I'll be watching this with three other alumni the day after Thanksgiving. Aggies have no chance but I'm looking forward to drinking a lot of beer and cussing at Franchione. Kansas VS. Missouri. No introduction needed. I still think the winner will lose to Oklahoma in the championship game. Duke @ UNC.
November 19, 200718 yr "It's crazy," FSU linebacker Dekoda Watson said Sunday. "I mean, it's no disrespect to Tim Tebow or anything, but it's like they say his name on every play even if it don't have anything to do with him." FSU @ UF (bball friday, football saturday) .... Its looking like a looooong weekend.

Oh, can't wait to see how bad Tebow destroys FSU's secondary.
November 19, 200718 yr Author Kansas won't beat Missouri. :shifty I'm thinking for my A&M drinking game we should do it for everytime they show Franchione on TV.

November 19, 200718 yr Author They are going to be at Arrowhead for Kansas-Missouri and the start will be 7pm.
November 19, 200718 yr If we had a real quarterback, we might have a shot against FSU. Don't forget about Percy Harvin being out because of AIDS.
November 19, 200718 yr Q: Why won't they let VCU have a football team? A: Because then uva would want one too.
November 19, 200718 yr If we had a real quarterback, we might have a shot against FSU. Don't forget about Percy Harvin being out because of AIDS. He's expected to be back, he worked out with the team yesterday. Cooper will also be back, which would make it the first time in 2 months that all receivers will be healthy. Tebow will have plenty of guys to hand off and throw 2 yard passes to.
November 19, 200718 yr Q: Why won't they let VCU have a football team? A: Because then uva would want one too. Totally funny!
November 19, 200718 yr Twenty Ole Miss football players have been placed on "indefinite probation" for conduct unbecoming of an Ole Miss student-athlete, the school announced in a news release Sunday evening. This is at least the fifth time Ole Miss coach Ed Orgeron has disciplined players this season. In other instances this season starters Greg Hardy, Corey Actis, John Jerry and Ashlee Palmer have lost playing time. The release did not indicate how many, if any, of the 20 players were starters and how playing time might be affected. The Rebels (3-8, 0-7 SEC) end their season Friday at Mississippi State. On two occasions, one possibly as recently as this weekend, players took hotel property from hotel rooms. The football program has a longtime business relationship with The Summit hotel, where it stays the night before home games. No management personnel from The Summit were available for comment Sunday night. The first hotel trip in question was Oct. 26, before the team's game at Auburn the next day. The Rebels spent the Friday night at The Embassy Suites in Montgomery, Ala. Embassy Suites management declined comment to the Memphis Commercial Appeal. Orgeron addressed missing hotel property with the team the Monday after the Auburn game. Some players were held after practice to discuss it further. "The property included radios and pillows," athletics director Pete Boone said. "The student-athletes involved have personally repaid the value of these items, which ranges from $15 to $40." Neither Boone nor Orgeron returned phone messages before Daily Journal deadlines Sunday night. At regularly scheduled position meetings on Sunday, a person in attendance said Orgeron instructed players not to discuss the matter. "I don't want you guys to worry about it. We'll take care of it," Orgeron told players. Because the players have made restitution there are no NCAA rules violations, said compliance director David Wells in the release. "These athletes are on indefinite probation," Orgeron said. "Any actions similar to this will result in more severe penalties which may include dismissal from the team." Orgeron was questioned about his team's behavior following the Auburn game when he announced an indefinite suspension for Hardy. "As I look across the country I see guys getting arrested, being put in jail. I haven't seen any of that with my players. I think we run a strict, disciplined program here. "I feel that we have a very well behaved team, and it never gets publicized. None of these infractions were law-breaking infractions. They were just violations of team rules." Boone is scheduled to attend Orgeron's weekly news conference at 1:30 p.m. today to answer further questions about the disciplinary action.
November 19, 200718 yr Of course, Tennessee at Kentucky is only airing in Southern markets the week I go back home. f***ing glorious
November 19, 200718 yr I just hope the winner of the Kansas-Mizzou game doesn't screw it up in the Big XII title game
November 19, 200718 yr Author I just hope the winner of the Kansas-Mizzou game doesn't screw it up in the Big XII title game They will.
November 19, 200718 yr Big UF/FSU game this weekend! wewt! .....I'm not going. Why aren't you going? UF/FSU is the game that you ALWAYS have to go to...the atmosphere there is better than any other game. Doesn't matter that it's not as "important" as it would be if one or the other, or both, were in the top-5 rank wise, or in the confernce title hunt...it's always a great game to go to. And it's gonna be great finishing the game 56-0 :cool
November 19, 200718 yr It became obvious in post-game interviews on Saturday that several Seminole players are already growing tired of the hype surrounding the Gators' sophomore signal-caller. For the most part, the Seminole players have been politically correct when asked about Tebow but that changed during a Monday interview with linebacker Geno Hayes. Florida State's defense held Tebow in check last year. "Tim Tebow is going down this week. Ya'll put that down," Hayes said. "That is our attitude." Last year in Tallahassee, when Tebow came off the bench for Urban Meyer, the Seminole defense did handle him. In that game, the then freshman quarterback managed just three yards rushing on four carries. He was also 0-for-1 on pass attempts. But the strong-armed quarterback has come a long way since then. Last Saturday, he became the first quarterback in NCAA history to have 20 or more rushing touchdowns and 20 or more passing touchdowns in the same season. As a result, he is probably the odds on favorite to take home a Heisman Trophy next month. Despite his gaudy numbers, Hayes believes it is possible for a defense to keep him in check. "It's not difficult, really it's not," Hayes said. "Auburn showed that when they played on a couple of goal line stops. There's an old saying, the bigger they are the harder they fall. He's a great quarterback, take nothing away from him but it's not like we're going to go in there and give up because he's bigger and more agile at his size. It's nothing we can't handle. We're going to go in with the attitude that if he runs the ball we have to take it on, no matter how hard it gets."
November 20, 200718 yr If we had a real quarterback, we might have a shot against FSU. Don't forget about Percy Harvin being out because of AIDS. :lol :notworthy
November 20, 200718 yr i think fsu has a definite shot. we do very well with the up the middle, run at you type of teams, jsut ask boston college. geno is gonna get a couple of big hits on teblow, i can guarantee that. the gators should win if they can establish the teblow - percy harvin thing. im very interested to see how myron rolle handles the gators receiving corps. on the other side of the ball, the gator defense is pretty weak. if fsu's o-line can give weatherford time to throw in the pocket, carr and fagg should be able to exploit their injuries in the secondary. i see a shootout, and honestly, i cant pick the winner. should be a very good game, potentially the second major victory in the resurrection of fsu. and if teblow gets bitch-slapped all day and the gators lose in their own house, it would be a total farce if he wins the heisman.
November 20, 200718 yr Well, maybe Duke can salvage what was once a promising season. We lost on a missed XP last year. Meanwhile, Miami needs to win at BC to make a bowl game. Good luck, Miami.
November 20, 200718 yr "Changes in history usually occur after some kind of catastrophic event," Saban said during the opening remarks of his weekly news conference. "It may be 9-11, which sort of changed the spirit of America relative to catastrophic events. Pearl Harbor kind of got us ready for World War II, or whatever, and that was a catastrophic event."
November 20, 200718 yr JMU @ Appalachian State this Saturday for the first round matchup in FCS playoffs. C'mon Dukes!
November 20, 200718 yr AUBURN, Ala. -- Tigers coach Tommy Tuberville tried to clear up one issue ahead of Saturday's game against Alabama (No. 25 AP) , saying he planned to stay put "as long as they want us here." Tuberville said Monday that he has no plans to leave for another job despite reports linking him to a potential job opening at Texas A&M to replace embattled coach Dennis Franchione. Leave Tommy! Please!
November 20, 200718 yr Looking forward to this weekend as always , I have tickets for the basketball game on Friday night regrettably I will not be in the Swamp on saturday . I for one am not taking the noles lightly . It is a pretty compelling game because the noles offense stinks and gators defense leaves a lot to be desired . At the end of the day I think Gators offensive firepower and home field advantage will lead us to victory .
