Best Single Game Performance By A Marlin

Featured Replies

If only judged on hitting Cody's 3HR night would be a good one to start with. I'd also lump D-train's 2 HR night also in 06 in a top 5. Still the best single game performance to me was by Kevin Brown in his no-hitter back in 97, one hit batter away from a perfect game.

I remember that Cody Ross game. When he came up for that third AB, everyone was chanting "CO-DY! CO-DY! CO-DY!", I was like "Leave the poor guy alone, he can't hit three in a row. That's just asking too mucOH MY GOD! CO-DY! CO-DY! CO-DY!"

Now that we have that out of the way, wouldn't we have to go with a no-hitter? There are 480 3-home run games, while there are 256 no-no's.

In that vain, I have to go with Kevin Brown's. He was a hit's batsman away from a perfect game.

Josh Beckett - Game 6 of the WS.

Very good choice.

The pressure of the game must be taken into consideration. I am starting to rethink my vote.

:notworthy. Thank you. Thank you very much.

Mike Lowell's 3-homer game against Philly... 2004, I think?

I'd have to agree. Lowell before he tanked was a lot of fun to watch, a complete hitter who was capable of doing anything. 2004 was the season that I finally got Marlins games again so this one seems really important to me.

I didn't think post-season, but pressure wise it had to be Beckett's performance in game 5 of the NLCS, win or go home after losing three straight.

Andy Pettite was fantastic in Game 6 of the World Series. Josh Beckett was better. I have to go with that performance just because of what was at stake.

Josh Beckett vs. Cubs Game 5. That game is forgotten because of the stupid Bartman conterversary. We needed him that night to save the series, and he dominated.
