Uggla out with left-ankle sprain

Featured Replies

I think that's a comment by either Uggla or Fredi in another story. PBP I think.

It had something to do with Dan limping up to the clubhouse and not coming back.

Sprains can take a while to heal, especially if it's an upper ankle sprain. It will be the size of Rhode Island tomorrow and then they'll figure things out when the swelling goes down. At least the x-ray was negative.

Guess we'll be seeing more of Andino this week...especially if Amezaga's still down.

I don't want to say the ship is sinking, but it kind of feels like it. SOS, JJ! SOS!!!!!!

Wouldn't this be a perfect time for a McPherson callup?

Depending on how long Danny is out. If he's out 5 days, I wouldn't call Dallas up, because you would just have to send him down when Danny comes back.

i was at game dan uggla getting hurt make lost feel worst he try go back to first but was hurting too much their say radio that he was going get xray i did hear any more i miss the post game on radio because i stay for show

That's what I was thinking too and was wondering if somebody else had posted it. It wouldn't do our defense any favors but we need to take advantage of the opportunity to see what DMac has got. Niether Amezaga nor Andino would be an attractive option for several weeks.

Quoted from the recap from espn

"....He was tagged out hobbling in the baseline and limped back to the dugout. The team will evaluate the injury Sunday but doesn't expect Uggla to miss time."

Uggla likely to miss rest of homestand

X-rays on sprained left ankle are negative, but slugger to sit

By Alden Gonzalez / MLB.com

MIAMI -- Dan Uggla remains day-to-day with his sprained left ankle, but Marlins manager Fredi Gonzalez said there's a good chance his second baseman could be out until the beginning of the road trip on Thursday against the Rockies.

"We'll probable stay away from him for a couple of days; hopefully, he could play the road trip," Gonzalez said. "He's just got to ice the [heck] out of it today. He's got to get that whole swelling down and get some treatment on that.

"But [head athletic trainer Sean Cunningham] told me he was able to put some weight on it."

You couldn't hope for anything better. What do you mean "not good at all?"

I don't see how this warrants a "not good at all" post.
