He's not better than any of our 5 starters right now. He's never been a reliever, and there's no point in signing him to be a long reliever. We have Hendrickson for that, who's had a solid career, as a reliever. Signing Livan doesn't upgrade this team.

Hendrickson is a good bullpen pitcher, he just can't give you 5 good innings as a starter. Releasing Hendrickson for Livan would be a double whammy... we would be downgrading (Livan is far worse) AND we would be giving the Phillies the veteran left-hander they failed to trade for.

Hendrickson has a solid career as a reliever, and Livan does not. Not to mention that Livan has been WORSE than Hendrickson this year. When Erick, GoFishX2, and I all agree against something, you must know it is terribly bad.
