August 1, 200818 yr Yes, no, maybe? http://ww3.startribune.com/blogs/neal/2008...-for-the-twins/ Has Livan Hernandez made his last start for the Twins? Posted on July 31st, 2008 ? 9:36 PM By La Velle There are strong indications that the Twins will cut loose righthander Livan Hernandez in order to make room for lefthander Francisco Liriano. Several people with knowledge of the situation have said over the past two days that it?s time for Liriano to join the major league roster and, while he has won 10 games, Hernandez?s recent results indicate that it is time for a change. Liriano is scheduled to start on Friday for the Red Wings but it looks like that won?t happen. It?s unclear where he would be inserted into the Twins rotation. Indications are that the Twins are willing to eat the remainder of Hernandez?s $5 million salary.
August 1, 200818 yr Author Um...so? I forgot to add my question before I posted and when I went to edit it my comp went Richard Simmons on me for like an hour.
August 1, 200818 yr Author No. What for? I mean, this has 0 impact on us. Maybe we can get rid of Hendrickson and stick Livan in the bullpen. Just a thought.

Hendrickson, on the other hand 3.74 ERA in 82.1 IP as a reliever. Plus, Livan's WHIP is 1.632, more than .100 over Hendrickson's. No way.

August 1, 200818 yr Jesus Christ no. He's had a nice career but he's no longer a useful major league pitcher.
August 1, 200818 yr yea no where to put livan he wants to start and we haev 5 people already capable for that job
August 1, 200818 yr Yes bring him back! take hendrickson off and put livan in the bullpen. livan has experience in the playoff field.
August 1, 200818 yr No. What for? I mean, this has 0 impact on us. IMO, it would have a negative impact on the team. Why is this here? :mis2
August 1, 200818 yr Are we going to get a thread for every washed up former Marlin that gets released? Nostalgia junkies... :thumbdown
August 1, 200818 yr No, he has really struggled, and he wouldn't really have a spot on our staff, when Miller comes back we have 6 starters, I don't think we need another guy. Miller would probably go to AA, but the 5 there now, have done a good job.
August 1, 200818 yr I like Livan, but there's no need for him... maybe if he could catch and was hitting .260 + we could talk.
