Marlins colors

Featured Replies

I'm trying to paint my room Florida Marlins colors but I don't know which to use. I want to use teal but is teal still a marlins official color??? You think that in 2011 they will still have teal?

Isn't there some paint company that has "official" team colors? Or maybe that was just for the NFL I can't remember. Ask at the hardware store.

Edit to add: I looked on google, and Glidden makes official NFL team colors, and I'm sure the Miami Dolphins Teal would work for the Marlins teal, and of course black is just black. Here's a link that you can see a virtual room with the colors: http://www.mostcolorfulfan.com/teamfinder.php?s=1

Dolphins color is "aqua" not "teal." They are two completely different colors.

They aren't that different, lmao. Find a more suitable one for him then.

Teal is a difficult color to match. The Marlins, Jaguars, Dolphins, and Mariners all use shades of it, but when you examine them close, the colors are very different.

Teal, white, black and sometimes they've used orange but never on their uniforms. I think light teal would look nice man.

I hate the fact that the ugly bright orange is thrown onto the Marlins.

Stupid Dolphins.

:barf

Best thing to do is match the color to some official marlins gear like a jersey or cap...teal is a beautiful color but there are way too many subtle variations on it and its easy to get them mixed up. And no, the dolphins do not use the same teal as the Marlins so be careful when you choose...

As for your room, teal works best as an accent, which is why the Marlins dont usually overuse it, so plan it out before your start to paint

Don't use the Gllidden Team colors paint from Home Depot. The teal is too light, and too blue almost (kind of like the teal from the first year's batting practice jerseys). My downstairs den is my Marlins shrine, and I had to re-paint after using that crap.

I ended up using a shade from Kilz at Wal-Mart...forgot what's it's called...but it was more to the green side and the shade was more intermediate.

Bring a hat or jersey into the store and they can match it up perfectly with their computer. I'm pretty sure Home Depot offers that service. But to be sure just look in the Yellow Pages for a paint store near you. But be warned. If you bring in a faded one you will get the faded colors.

Also, spend the $$$ and get a good primer to use first. It really makes a difference.
