August 17, 200817 yr i keep hearing all this talk about fire sale and trades this offseason why does everyone keep mentioning cody ross???? he has shown that he can adjust to pitches and hit them oppo he can definently hit the long ball and he gets hits in clutch situations! if anything we should move him to left field this off season and then put maybin in center

But I agree with moving him to left.
August 17, 200817 yr I would love to keep Cody if he doesn't cost too much, even as a bench player. I wonder what its going to cost to keep him though.
August 17, 200817 yr I'm not totally comfortable with bringing Maybin up so soon. Here's what I'd like to do: I keep Cody as my centerfielder and if by July we are defintely not in contention, trade him away for cash and maybe a prospect. And THEN bring up Maybin. But this is assuming we're not in contention, which I believe we will be. Our pitching staff is too good to not think we will be.
August 17, 200817 yr Ross is "okay" but his numbers are not eye opening. The question is whether the front office wants to pay him if they feel they can get similar production from a guy in the minors.
August 17, 200817 yr I say we should part with Hammer or Hermida in the offseason and plug Ross in one of the corner outfield spots to save money.

August 17, 200817 yr When Willingham actually hits, he's better than Ross. Though I wouldn't mind replacing Willingham, people seem to think Ross is a lot better, which isn't really the case. Both are very streaky hitters. However, I'll give Cody an edge for being a better defender and being less injury prone.

Both are very streaky hitters. However, I'll give Cody an edge for being a better defender and being less injury prone. My only issue with that is, how many seasons has Willingham actually hit for? He's had a couple of very average years in the bigs, and now back problems. He reminds me a lot of a Kevin Millar in his time with the ball club... a solid big league hitter, but nothing more. And if these back problems are chronic, that is reason enough to give up on him.
August 18, 200817 yr Cody's defense alone (ability to play center very well) makes him so much more valuable than Willingham, who is pretty much locked into LF. I'll be disappointed if he gets traded because he is such an exciting player to watch, however, I realize that he may fetch a lot in a trade if another team looks at him the right way. If the right offer was received, he is movable, but I really hope he wouldn't be traded just for the sake of it.

I love the guy and all but since his injury hes gone down hill and has never showed signs of coming back up after that game vs the Nats. Dont take a risk on this guy move him right away and send gonzo with him. with that done we could put cody in either left or center keep hermida in right(same reason as uggla i wanna see if he has matured and play like he really can) then call up maybin in either left or center Keep Cody because hes so valuable to this team he can field like a gold glover hit for power and average and hes clutch and theres no reason to trade him we dont need any more prospects. Jacobs or Olsen(who i want to keep) will be traded for a catcher and we look good with our pitchers.
August 18, 200817 yr Ross is the boss. This is a moot discussion and the most ridiculous point of view ever taken on this board-CODY STAYS. And I am not a fan of Cody-just an objective fan. lalalala

Does that have anything to do with a donkey in Tijauna ?
