FreshFish
http://www.politico.com/blogs/bensmith/110...ncy_Reagan.html President-elect Barack Obama called Nancy Reagan this afternoon to apologize for a joke about her having held "s?ances" in the White House, an Obama aide said. “President-elect Barack Obama called Nancy Reagan today to apologize for the careless and off handed remark he made during today’s press conference," said transition spokeswoman Stephanie Cutter. "The President-elect expressed his admiration and affection for Mrs. Reagan that so many Americans share and they had a warm conversation." Obama was asked at his press conference today if he'd spoken to all the "living" presidents. "I have spoken to all of them who are living," he responded. "I didn’t want to get into a Nancy Reagan thing about doing any s?ances." He was apparently confusing stories about Reagan's consulting with an astrologer with those about other First Ladies -- from Mary Todd Lincoln to Hillary Clinton -- who tried to make contact with figures from the past. Video with remarks at the above link Jimmy is going to have a field day, lol
Jimmy
Zombie Reagan(Cobra Commander's running mate) would be deeply offended at this. Poor taste Barack Lobster, poor taste. I know the Zombie Reagan is a reference most people wont get, just youtube it, or Cobra Commander '08.

IrishHarrington
nonstory No it is a legit story . I cringed when Obama intiallly attempted his poor attempt at humor fortunately he did the right thing and apologized for his mistake. I was very impressed with our media . They have yet again done a fantastic job of asking the important questions of the day hopefully the next series of questions will move away from the "dog" issue and address what is President Obama's favorite food and color . EricWiener
It is kind of jarring to see a gaff in a major event, because he avoided such for most of the campaign, but it this is a non-issue and he already apologized to Mrs. Reagan, who I am think didn't really mind all that much. While this certainly does not reflect on Obama's ability to run the country, it would be kind of nice if he actually had a true sense of humor. That is hilarious coming from someone who displays the sense of humor of an 17th century Puritan clergyman.

Doesnt matter. It was said with humor in mind. If McCain had made that comment, you people would of been up in arms saying how hateful and insensitive it is. His mentor as a kid was a communist. He ran on a platform of change, and spreading the wealth which is symbolic of a socialist. Just ask Castro and Chavez. You know the saying. If it looks like a duck, and it walks like a duck, it's a duck. Wow I even used the correct it's. Imagine that. Oh, by the way, did I mention that he is a Muslim? Jimmy42Jack0
Even if he were a Muslim, who cares? exactly...as i recall...there is no official religion of the United States of America...which means...he could practice martianian and i wouldnt care...i only care if the man can help our country regain our good name, fix the economy, pay attention to global warming and not deny its existence for the purpose of making money, kill off norm braman, and other essential deeds :whistle
FutureGM
I agree, what would be so bad if he was actually a Muslim? Minnesota elected a Muslim Congressman, and the world didn't end (as far as I know). It's really sad that we still have a lot of people in this country who unfairly group all Muslims together and assume that they are terrorists. I think part of it is racism against Arabs, honestly. FreshFish
Nothing wrong about being a Muslim and running for the Presidency...With that said, at this point in time (and I'm pretty sure for decades to come), a Muslim candidate have 0 chances of winning the Presidency (if he is truthful about it)

Jimmy
Granted, I have no problem with what the Barack Lobster said since it gave me a chance to reference Zombie Reagan, but thats just me personally. If I had more scruples about it, I would probably be offended. So I will say it, with all the extra money Obama will make on the side from lobbyists and special interests, will he use that extra income to hunt down his dad? Or will the old guy instinctively show up at a White House tour looking to borrow cash?
