January 10, 200917 yr Source:MLB Rumers Thats going to be a nasty line-up if they land M.Ramirez I'd do it if i were the Dodgers if they sign Manny and trade him for Swisher Nady and a prsopect pitcher like maybe Hughes or Kennedy. Then they would free cap room get 2 pretty good hitters and a pitcher to try to replace Lowe. The Yanks then get Manny and they should then probably be a lock for a WS appearence Lineup Damon Jeter A Rod Manny Tex Matsui Posada Cano Gardner Rotation Sabathia Burnett Wang Joba Hughes/Kennedy/Aceves
January 10, 200917 yr I thought they already signed the max number of A prospects? Yes, according to Nny, who I trust more than that site. It's irresponsible commentating, but a trade I suppose could be a possibility. I'm just not sure if Manny would be amenable to a sign-and-trade. It's proving to be difficult enough to sign him, let alone a trade. I've said this before, but if we can get the Yankees to pick up some salary, I think Swisher would be an amazing 4th OF + Backup 1st baseman. If the Marlins could swing this deal without giving up anyone significant, I'm all for it. With him, we're just a righty catcher short of an extremely good and well-constructed roster.
January 10, 200917 yr One problem, the Yankees can't sign Manny...They already reached their limit on Type A FA's
January 10, 200917 yr Thats why i said if the Dodgers sign Manny they could trade him to the Yanks for Swish Nady and A pitcher either Aceves/Kennedy or Hughes.
January 10, 200917 yr One problem, the Yankees can't sign Manny...They already reached their limit on Type A FA's Mystikol87 is on to something because the Yankee's don't have to sign him. A team could sign Manny and just trade him away to the Yankees. The Yankees get Manny and that other team would gain a few good players just for merely transferring Manny. This seems highly unlikely but it makes sense.
January 10, 200917 yr manny aint happening, there trying to move one cause of their overload of DH/OF
January 10, 200917 yr Thats why i said if the Dodgers sign Manny they could trade him to the Yanks for Swish Nady and A pitcher either Aceves/Kennedy or Hughes. Why would the Dodgers do that? Swisher stinks, Nady is alright, and Kennedy has been getting bombed. That would be the worst trade ever made.

They do not want San Fran getting a hold of him
January 10, 200917 yr I cant see LA trading manny if they can some how sign him. I thought NYY was trading swish or nady cause they got tex which ment they wouldnt need swisher as a first basmen thus crowding their OF with Matsui, damon, gardner, nady, and swisher.
January 10, 200917 yr Actually I might have been wrong, and if I was than I apologize for posting mis-information. Pat Courtney, a spokesman for MLB, has said that a team can sign up to 9 type A or B free agents. I'd certainly believe what he has to say since he actually works for Major League Baseball, although my issue with it is that, if it's true, it's a rather pointless rule since there are about that many type A/B free agents per year. It's possible he's wrong, or that the article itself is wrong, or the rule is just dumb.
January 10, 200917 yr Nats interested in Nady/Swisher http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20...8&fext=.jsp
January 11, 200917 yr If they can pick up either one of those players, that would be very nice for that team.
January 11, 200917 yr If they can pick up either one of those players, that would be very nice for that team. I think it would be a decent pickup for the NAts, maybe not the best, but it will add to them.

January 11, 200917 yr That would be a joke Jeter at SS Cano at 2B Injured Posada at C Damon CF Manny LF Swisher in RF(He is good at 1B, super meh everywhere else) That leaves Matsui, A-Rod and Teixiera Matsui at DH doesn' count. A-Rod is OK at 3B. Teixeria is there ONLY plus defender and he plays 1B..... That covers the horrid D. Now the bullpen.... if Joba is in the rotation, they have one of the better rotations in baseball but the bullpen is kinda rough. Marte sucked in NY, Mo doesn't age, he will be great again but not til the 9th..... I like Edwar Ramirez, that's about it.

Arod has progreed at 3rd but average at best. Damon has a wossie arm but can field the position well. Gardner/Melky are pretty damn good in CF Cano is meh havn't seen him play much Manny is well Manny and Tex is a gold glover. Not the greatest D but the Offesne should put up runs. Bullpen well since CC is in the rotation and he atleast goes 7 or 8 innings a game they wont need more than Mo that night. Ramirez is a nice you talent and if they don't pick up another start they Could have 2 Of Either Hughes/Kennedy or Aceves in the pen and Marte might be able to bounce back a 2nd time around
January 11, 200917 yr Id say Arod is above average at 3rd. He had a bad year in 06 but besides that hes a GG ss at 3rd imo.
January 11, 200917 yr Id say Arod is above average at 3rd. He had a bad year in 06 but besides that hes a GG ss at 3rd imo. Nah, he's about average +/-'s hovering around the 0 mark... +2, +3, -12... that's 08, 07, 06, respectively

The Yankees defense is pretty much about average defensively, I would say... at least on the infield... the OF is definitely weaker than the IF, especially if they pick up Manny for LF... that being said, with Gardner in CF and if they trade Melky for Mike Cameron, that improves that situation dramatically...

By the way your steelers better whoop those damn chargers, I hate rivers and that whole team.

"Imagine Hanley's offense if he was defensively neutral" and it was something to the effect of how awesome it would be. Average defensively is nothing to shake a stick, especially with the offensive numbers he puts up... And Re: Steelers, I too hate Rivers (I like LT) so, yeah... we're gonna try our best
