Pudge or Matheny IMO

If the award was based on the entire season,including post season,Pudge would win. This award is based alot on reputation. Alot of votes go to past winners because of there rep.Until Pudge had the great post season alot of people saw him as a aging catcher who has been hurt. What his stats or any other catcher stats are really does not matter. I mean Pudge won 10 straight years in Texas. You do not think people just voted for him on name alone.(not saying he did not deserve to win 10 straight)

He may not win this. But next year when the Marlins get there WS rings that will be better anyway.

I think d lee will get it. His field pct was close to #1 in the NL, and if you account for his added range due to his height, he really is the best fielding 1B in the NL. A GG would be nice if we plan on trading him. But if we want to keep him... well, let's hope he gets the shaft then.

Because of that, you can end up with some really bizarre results for Gold Glove, like when Palmeiro won a couple of years ago. You can win a Gold Glove with 15% of the vote if the voting is split enough. Kinda like California elects governors.

I think Matheny should get it, despite the fact that he's not as good as his stats say.

 

I would say it's a 50/50 chance Pudge gets it over Matheny.

 

100% chance Lee gets it. 70/30 chance Luis gets it. 40/60 chance Gonzalez gets it. 50/50 chance Encarnacion gets it.

Petter Gammons ALWAYS made it 100% clear throughout the entire season that Lee was the man at 1B.

 

The entire team even said that, "if Derrek doesn't win it this year, the award is a joke."
