March 18, 200917 yr Per rotoworld: Red Sox released catcher Josh Bard. Bard entered camp as the favorite to back up Jason Varitek, but much like 2006 the Red Sox have decided to go in another direction. George Kottaras now appears likely to claim the No. 2 catcher job after having more success corralling Tim Wakefield's knuckleball, although Doug Mirabelli is always just a phone call away. Related: George Kottaras http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playerpag...681&id=3526 I wonder if we should sign him to a minor league deal. He was vying for the #2 catcher spot and thats what we need right now. A #2 catcher. Seems like there's not that much of a risk to take.
March 18, 200917 yr the marlins should definitely sign him on a minor league deal and let him and rabelo fight it out for the backup position.

March 21, 200917 yr dang it. seems like rabelo is really going to be the backup. i'll never forgive rabelo for trying to tag the base instead of the runner even though their wasn't a force play.
