April 1, 200917 yr 04/01/2009 10:24 AM ET Marlins to host Pre-Opening Day workout on April 5 Team's Pre-Opening Day workout event open to the public for the first time in franchise history MIAMI – The Florida Marlins are set to host a special Pre-Opening Day Workout on Sunday, April 5 from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Dolphin Stadium. For the first time, fans will have the opportunity to watch the team's first home workout as the Marlins prepare to host the Washington Nationals on Opening Day on April 6. The Marlins Pre-Opening Day Workout is free and open to the public. The event will feature: Autograph sessions with Marlins players (2:45 p.m. to 3:15 p.m). Watch live batting practice (players stretch at 3:45 p.m. and batting practice from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.). Opportunity to meet Billy The Marlin and the Marlins Mermaids. Select your seats for the 2009 season and get priority seating for the new Marlins Ballpark. Live radio broadcast on the field with Sports Talk 790 The Ticket. Live in-stadium interviews with players during batting practice, hosted by Glenn Geffner. First 100 fans through the gates will receive an official 2009 World Baseball Classic program. Marlins Fan Headquarters will be open at Section 146 with inflatables, games, and the Marlins prize wheel The Marlins will open the 2009 season by hosting the Washington Nationals for a three-game series (April 6-8) and the New York Mets (April 10-12) at Dolphin Stadium. Big ups to the FO, ever since they got the stadium approved they've been doing many things to start the TRADITION of baseball in this city! This is a pretty cool event.. Though I bet you could buy them in bulk for cheaper. i got foulball last year and batting practices ball last year i not able to go because of other plan if donot i will have been their i be their on monday for first game

April 6, 200917 yr Sounds like you all had a good time. Nice pics, JRD. After I finished off a little project around the house in the AM, I lounged all day. Gonna be a long week and I'm definetly not in mid season form yet. Making 5 of the 6 games. Gave my Wed tickets away.
