4/30 Fish of the Game

Amezaga? Not a candidate?

I realized that right after I posted it, edit when through right before you replied.

I believe Amezaga is the Fish of the game. If it wasn't for that diving stop in the 9th, we would've never seen that beautiful 10th inning.

P.S. I don't think Hanley makes that play if he's out there. (3-0 without Ramirez)

Alfredo Amezaga, without a doubt. He saved a run that would have won the Cubs the game.

Would Hanley have gotten to that ball?

I nominate the "Mexican Connection" for this win...

And I called it way back when Cantu first got knocked out, this offense really needs him in it.

OK, I agree but I don't point it in the same way.

Yes, Hanley would have not made that play. No doubt on that one. But, I'd argue with how hot Hanley was before he went down (and he was hitting veeeeeeeery well), that the score might have not been 2-2 at that point.

Especially considering that he OWNS Sean Marshall. .400/.538/.800 in 5 games, 13 PA.

Amezaga for sure. I was at the game and that play alone took the air out of the balloon. Then, to make things better he doubled in the 10th and scored. He changed the game with the nice play and the big hit. Amezaga.

3 in a row!

Only negative is that none of our starters has picked up the W in 12 games now. Both JJ and Volstad have deserved wins in each of their last 2 starts.
