July 1, 200917 yr What a great match going on between Roddick and Hewitt, and how about Haas upsetting Djokovic.
July 1, 200917 yr Author Roddick wins the intense 5 setter... Semis will be Roddick/Murray and Federer/Haas
July 3, 200917 yr Serena escapes Dementieva and Venus annihilates Safina for another all Williams final. So does this mean tennis rankings are gonna be revamped? When the #1 player only wins 1 game there's something wrong. Yes it was Venus on her best surface but the #1 player should've been able to have a better performance than that. Woman's tennis rankings=BCS. I always root for both Williams sisters to make the final but its anti-climactic when they get there because I don't know who to root for. Venus will probably win.

Rankings are determined by matches won, with grand slams having the highest point value for rankings... so, yes the rankings will be shaken up, but not because of the "quality" of the win or loss (a former BCS product) but because Serena was also highly ranked and made it to the final.
July 3, 200917 yr WOW NBC is f***ing retarded. Not being able to watch a Wimbledon semifinal live, is just ridiculous.

July 3, 200917 yr Author WOOOOO!!! Roddick vs. Fed final! I was thinking of posting this with a spoiler since NBC hasn't finished airing it yet
July 3, 200917 yr Always been rooting for Roddick, would love for him to pull off the upset against Federer
July 3, 200917 yr Federer is a 5/1 favorite, deservedly so. Still, I might take a stab on Roddick here. I'll really be rooting for a good match.

It's not uncommon for one of the Williams sisters to completely overwhelm the top-ranked player. They've done this repeatedly over the years.
July 5, 200917 yr wow. Federer is just a machine. Feel bad for Andy... Roddick probably played the match of his life, and just didn't have enough. Great stuff.
July 5, 200917 yr yeah I couldn't tell if Roddick was serious or joking when Roger said "don't feel too bad Andy, I was there last year" and Roddick replied "uh you had already won it 5 times." Sure looked like he was a little irritated at the comment.

Sure looked like he was a little irritated at the comment. He was definitely irritated, but tried to pass it off as a joke... Andy's career has pretty much been flatlined by Roger Federer, Andy knows it, Roger knows it... Roger should be more sportsmanlike than to say anything along the lines of "I know how it feels to lose" when the Slam count is 15-1
July 5, 200917 yr Man Andy played a great match, tough loss for him. OH well it was still an unbelievable final.
July 5, 200917 yr I was hoping Roddick would win this even tho he knocked out Murray. I'm sick of Federer and his dominance (even tho I am a Tiger Woods fan and he also dominates). I didn't see much of the game as I was working but for those who saw it all - how does it compare to the 2008 final?

I didn't see much of the game as I was working but for those who saw it all - how does it compare to the 2008 final? I'd say it compares favorably well, and I, too, am sick of Federer winning everything... and when Nadal gets back, Nadal v Federer... it's boring and stale anymore. People clamor that they want to see "good tennis" but I want to see "new tennis" new faces in the finals... Murray, Djokovic, Roddick (though he's not a "new" face) getting a chance at a title... I didn't watch last year's Wimbledon when it aired (I've since seen rebroadcasts)
July 5, 200917 yr I didn't see much of the game as I was working but for those who saw it all - how does it compare to the 2008 final? Same here except I was wondering how it compares with the last match between Agassi and Sampras at the US Open. I'm sick of Federer too. Woods also, although I may actually be sick of the media drooling over him and not actually him.
