July 1, 200917 yr One thing being lost in Uggla's season is that while his average is way down, he's also cut down on K's (not in the top 10 in the NL) and has increased his walks (into the top 10 in the NL). His BABIP is .237, that can't continue.
July 1, 200917 yr I really don't get the whole "we must cut down on K's!!!" theory. Who cares about K's when they come with a .900+ .OPS? I'd take Mark Reynolds year.

I dont know about his contract situation so this might sound stupid but hes has 21 HR and has 54 RBI with 13 sb. yes hes batting .268 but hes still a solid 3rd basemen. just a thought what do you guys think? That could possibly be the most retarded suggestion I have ever heard. Reynolds has the most strikeouts in the National League. We don't need any more strikeouts. At least recently Bonifacio is making contact. Also Bonifacio has scored 10 runs in the last 8 games. He has hit in 8 straight. Reynolds is no better defensively as they each have made 13 errors. Plus. Bonifacio is much faster and we have enough power already. In the last couple of games you can't say in anyway that Bonifacio has hurt our team. Also, I don;t see you complaining for Uggla to be traded. Boni is hitting 26 points higher than Uggla. (.224 compared to .250) Bonifacio scored two runs (that one against Baltimore and the one tonight) that possibly nobody else in the league can score. uggla has 15 hr boni has 1. ugglas obp is .334 boni is .298 uggla is slugging .444 boni is .303 uggla 45 rbi boni has 20 yes boni has improved lately but reynolds would be a major improvement at least uggla is hitting homeruns
July 2, 200917 yr Yeah, Reynolds strikes out. But to argue that he wouldn't be an upgrade to this team is silly. He would have a huge impact on the overall run production. That being said, I don't even know why this is being debated. It's already been stated here, but teams that are unloading get rid of veterans who make real money, not young players who put up huge numbers and aren't making much money yet. Guys like Reynolds and Drew are what the D'Backs will look to build around. It's the buyers who send away future studs, not the sellers. Reynolds is not available.
