...wow...he slides he makes that. One of those where he had to shortstep to hit the base. Unfortunate...

If he slides, he slows down.

The shortstep slows him down even more.

That should be an error. He didn't have to jump, and the ball touched his glove.

That was a tough ass play.

Not really.

It's the type of play people love to make fun of Hermida for.

It was a catchable ball.

I thought it was tough. Straight at him which is hard and over the shoulder. Catchable yes but not routine. I agree Cody woulda got it.

Sliding to 1B makes you slower. They kinda teach you to not do it b/c it slows you down.

Andrew Miller? Really? You couldn't put him in yesterday to get him work when the game was 13-4? Miller > Meyer? K, got it.

Yeah, but the reason it's done sometimes is because your so off step that you'll dramatically slow down if you shortstep. Just looked to me like he had to severely shorten up his stride to hit the base. I could just be seeing things though, either way, plays over and done with.

Right? That's what I had said. It really did seem like a misplayed ball.

i have a good feeling we're gonna score this inning because the players like cody ross admittedly scoreboard watch. And because the mets are coming back on the phils, they're gonna have more urgency. guarantee it!

Its rally time. Marlins score six runs here.

Ugh Clippard still in this freaking game... I hope the bottom of our order gets to him though! :pray

It was. Trust me if that was Hermida, there'd be like at least an extra 10-15 posts on here. It's a play that Maybin will hopefully get better at with experience, but it was misplayed...there was no need to jump. It was way more routine than he made it look. It's a play Cody Ross has made time and time again.

wow... all our guys swinging at high garbage.... WTF?

They're making this ass look like a pitcher. :banghead

I didn't say he played it right, I've said myself that he's looked wrong out there since coming up, but that doesn't mean that wasn't a tough play. Yes, Cody could have made it but Cody is a ridiculously good technical centerfielder. I bet other top defensive CFers could have made it too.
