February 1, 201016 yr I think steriods were running rampant everywhere. Thank God that Jose Canseco finally blew the whistle so that baseball could try to clean itself up. Watch the MLB channell sometime when they are playing games in the 70's and 80's. Even the home run hitters of that day where normal sized players.
February 1, 201016 yr I can't even imagine Dontrelle doing it; he would just be giggling with his 9,387,498 teeth as the trainer injects his buttox.
February 1, 201016 yr Methink bobbob is possibly thinking of Cabs, I could be mistaken though. Conine would be a fit there too.

Well, the late 80's you had some big dudes (including McGwire) winning the HR crown. That said, the reason they were thinner in the 60's-80's was because they were burning all their fat bouncing off the walls while using speed.
February 1, 201016 yr If baseball really wanted to rid itself of steroids....the first time a player is caught he should be banned for life....period.
February 1, 201016 yr If baseball really wanted to rid itself of steroids....the first time a player is caught he should be banned for life....period. And if the U.S. really wanted to rid itself of thievery....the first time a person is caught he should be thrown in jail for life....period.
February 1, 201016 yr Methink bobbob is possibly thinking of Cabs, I could be mistaken though. Conine would be a fit there too. No way Cabs was on steroids. He was 60% hot dogs and twinkies, with around 40% alcohol. If he did take steroids, it didn't help his physical appearance. Also, mystikol, Douglas>Taravella, you're just in flat out denial mode.
February 1, 201016 yr I don't think Cabrera was on anything either. But I could be wrong. You never know these days. I will never forget Rafael Palmeiro saying that he never used steroids on Capitol Hill. What a liar and a fraud he was.
February 1, 201016 yr Those are two different things. You are smarter than that....I think. Yeah, totally different. Thieves deserve a free pass, what they do is nowhere near as bad as "cheating" to gain a competitive advantage (which a good portion of players did and still do anyway...IN ALL SPORTS).
February 1, 201016 yr Douglas sucks. Go Taravella. Not even. It's all about Cypress Bay! We got Kyle Bellamy who was the 18th overall pick last season from U.M. and 7 kids currently playing baseball at D1 schools.
February 1, 201016 yr Thieves go to Prison where they live in a cage. A ballplayer would have to just choose a new line of work. Two different things.....get it?
February 1, 201016 yr Thieves go to Prison where they live in a cage. A ballplayer would have to just choose a new line of work. Two different things.....get it? Thieves hurt others. Steroid users hurt themselves. So yes, there is a difference.
February 1, 201016 yr Steroid users also hurt the integrity of the game and the sport's history. Why not just let some guys use aluminum bats.....same difference. But 75% of the league has to use wood bats. See what I'm saying?

But 75% of the league has to use wood bats. See what I'm saying? No if major league player used Aluminum bats guys like Braun, Howard, Fielder etc would have 100+ per year, steroid users have topped out at 73 and plus you still have to make solid contact with steroids to hit a homerun, not so much with aluminum.
February 1, 201016 yr It's still cheating no matter how you cut it. Yeah I know but using an aluminum bat isn't the best comparison out there.
February 1, 201016 yr You're right. But for fans to say that they are just hurting themselves is wrong.
February 1, 201016 yr Douglas sucks. Go Taravella. I go to douglas , it doesnt suck. Btw, this guy is an absolute animal either way. He is enormous Btw, isnt Taravella known for its ridiculously high std rate?
February 1, 201016 yr You're right. But for fans to say that they are just hurting themselves is wrong. But...they are just hurting themselves. Cheating hasn't just happened in this era, anyway. Baseball is also not the only sport with steroid users. For some reason, people seem to care more when baseball players do it, though.
February 1, 201016 yr Those are two different things. You are smarter than that....I think. Apparently you aren't smart enough to see my point. Just because a certain punishment would eliminate a certain crime doesn't mean that it's a good, fair, right, or just punishment.
February 3, 201016 yr Baseball should move past the steroid crap. Yeah, they cheated...so what? Everyone was doing it. Look back at the sport and each generation has it's "stuff" How would The Babe, Lou Gehrig, Jimmy Foxx and the rest have done against amazing black pitchers like Gibson, Newcombe, Paige etc. Opposite side of the coin would be how would Walter Johnson, Christy Mathewson, Joe Bush, and the other great pitchers of that generation do against Hank Aaron, Willie Mays, Dick Allen, Willie Stargell, and Willie McCovey? My point is that the racisim of Baseballs early days skewed the numbers of batters and pitchers alike. In addition, until 1958 players didn't have to travel thru 3 time zones. IN ADDITION, Baseball didn't play night games in the Old Days, making it easier for the batter to see the ball. No day games after non existant night games either. My point is that each generation could have an * after it, and it would be a valid *....or, there should be no * needed.
