gizmo
Marlins avoid the sweep, 3-2 W: Nolasco (8-6) L: Hudson (8-4) S: Nunez (17) HR: D Uggla (16)
I Love Me Some Fish
Solid win....Ricky seems to be getting into a groove....3 straight wins for him?
Schnellders
If only we could of seen more of this version of Ricky Nolasco this season: 7 innings, 6 hits, 2 runs, 1 walk, 11 strikeouts
Sirspud
I thought about giving the FOTG to Nunez just for not blowing it. It was nice to see the win, good job by Nolasco of minimizing his early struggles though its disappointing that he can't seem to really find that groove from the get-go in all his games. enterthemadness
1 out of 3 from the braves aint gonna cut it Don't be a party pooper. Marlins won and hopefully they can finally get on a decent winning streak before break.
Erick
Leo clearly doesn't have the mentality and stuff to close. He was clearly shaking today, and not throwing his fastball in the mid-90's like a closer normally does. :whistle PS - Why did Edwin make all those moves in the 8th? He seems to like Tim Wood much like Fredi Gonzalez liked Pinto, as well. I don't approve. (unless if Hensley got injured again on that bunt)

Erick
Hensley did get injured again He seemed to be fine after the initial limping he had going on. Was something said after the game?

canada-marlin24
good game but again we see even our best hitters fail with runners on. ricky, the pen, and leo were very good but we gotta start winning.

Marlins2003
Nothing so far in Google News on Hensley so I'm assuming it's minor until we hear otherwise.
MrMarlinPride
Great Game. Uggla was a man on a mission today he had all 3 RBI's and a nice HR (17). Nolasco just plain old dealed after that shaky 1st inning. Bullpen pitched very well maintaining the lead and most importantly Leo Nunez finally mixed up his pitches and made hitters look offbalance. I loved his pitch sequence against Infante going 3 fastballs then a changeup then 1 heater, 1 change and he finished him off with a final fastball up and it at 97 MPH. If he can continue pitching this way it will make life a whole lot easier for himself and he should convert saves a lot easier. All in all way to avoid the sweep and finish off a good Independence Day with a Win against a division rival. Now we are off to HANLEYWOOD! BafflingBeerman
Liked that Ricky settled down after the first. Not too happy about him allowing another HR (20 in 17 games now), but it was a solo shot that did limited damage. Now, let's see if the team can get over the "one step forward, two (or more) steps back" syndrome they have this year.
Sirspud
I think Edwin wanted to be cautious with the ankle. Hensley may really have been fine, but its indisputable that he did turn his ankle and that does provide a little tweak even if its only a short-lasting thing. Considering Hensley just got back from the DL, the last thing I'd want to see is him compensating during his delivery
canada-marlin24
"We didn't win the series, but we are going to go into L.A. with an attitude," Uggla said i like.
popeyethesailor
Ricky had an interesting game for sure. That 1st inn sac fly was almost a grand slam. He went deep into counts several times even with a very generous umpire calling many balls strikes that werent strikes to help out big time. If he had a tight umpire like Coussins it would have been a very different game for him and the Marlins. And yet another home run given up. At least we avoided a sweep.
