July 17, 201016 yr It seem like this team just go out at the end to play spoiler, instead of making the playoff Wrong. Spoiler teams are like the Nationals who have surprise talent and can beat you when you least expect it. We're more like Baltimore and Pittsburgh, teams that get STEPPED ON by teams trying to make a push. We only spoil our own games. Never compare this team to Baltimore or Pittsburgh.
July 17, 201016 yr Marinez threw one pitch. So glad we called him up. And yeah, I hope no one is too surprised when we're in last place. We're not.
July 17, 201016 yr I love all the positive remarks... It's been one f***ing game since the All Star Break and we had the luck of facing one of the hottest pitchers in the league and since we lost the season is lost or we are suddenly the Royals, Pirates or Orioles? Seriously grow the f*** up. We are only 10.5 games back in the division with 3 big games coming up against the division leader and we are 7 games back of the wild card leader in Colorado who we also play next series. If we take the next 2 in this series then take two in the Colorado Series and 2 in the Braves series we could be withing 6 games of the division and 3 games of the Wild Card. I will not give up on the season with an entire 71 games left and a current home stand of 9 games. J.J. will give us the win tomorrow and we will spark offensively Sunday to give Sanabia his 1st career win and then we make our move on Colorado which probably will start with a loss against Ubaldo but we could take the last two from them with solid pitching from Nate against all of the Rockie left handed hitters and then Ricky will have to go on that shutdown mode we all know he has giving him momentum into an early must win series at home versus Atlanta. There's no doubt that all of this can happen and the Marlins can make a run, we just need to believe and continue rooting for our team whether on T.V. or at Sun Life because much crazier things have happened in this game.
July 17, 201016 yr Why is everyone going so crazy tonight? Maybe it's because I went out with some friends, instead of watching the game, but seriously all...this is not a last place team, nor is it a playoff contender. Realistically, I expect a .500 record or maybe a little above .500 at the end of the year.

Realistically, I expect a .500 record or maybe a little above .500 at the end of the year. Without making any trades mid season can see this team finishing around 85-77 or 83-79 and being out of the playoff race by 8 or 9 games. If we fall to anything to anything farther then 5 games under .500 I'd be really surprised but either way I expect tons of changes this upcoming offseson whether we are in the playoffs or not.
July 17, 201016 yr That lineup shuffle worked wonders. Wait there was a lineup shuffle? Overall, bullpen was ok..Conine did a pretty good job at announcing...wow that's about all the pluses I saw tonight sadly. This team needs to wake up or something Really? I found 9er rather boring announcing. Even when he said something of interest it came off like it was being fed to him instead of being off the top of his head.

The season is not over, but it feels like it with that loss. But, that 7-3 record is still alive. This team can still win every series in this homestand. Splitting 2 with Colorado. Ugh. That be 6-4. I think Loria and co expect 7-3 or 8-2 to keep this team together. And no, this team ain't Pitt or Baltimore. It's like Toronto. Seriously, move that team to the AL Central or West and they be a playoff threat every f***ing year.

Really? Ive got plenty of faith in this team but I also believe that by mid July we have to start being realistic. We should have won last night, our starter had one bad inning and we got a "not-as-phenomenal-as-you'd-expect" Strasburg out after 6 after letting him off the hook in the first. My point is, the Mets, Braves, Yanks, Phils, Reds, and a few other teams would have squeaked out a win last night. But the Marlins in 2010 are the kind of team that rolls over and plays dead by the middle of the game. Its been like that all season long... CAN we still make a run? Of course! But if we havent shown that type of heart all season long, who says we will? Will I keep watching? Of course. Do I feel that they can realistically do this? Not without major changes. Sorry.

July 17, 201016 yr We're not going to finish in last place. Jesus, why does everyone think we're Washing/Baltimore/Pittsburgh bad?
July 17, 201016 yr We're not going to finish in last place. Jesus, why does everyone think we're Washing/Baltimore/Pittsburgh bad? Where do you think we are going to finish? If we finish third, who of the three ahead of us are we going to beat?
July 17, 201016 yr We're not going to finish in last place. Jesus, why does everyone think we're Washing/Baltimore/Pittsburgh bad? Well, we're only 2.5 games ahead of Washington, and they beat us last night.
July 18, 201016 yr We're not going to finish in last place. Jesus, why does everyone think we're Washing/Baltimore/Pittsburgh bad? Because we're not much better than Washington. It's something we should get used to anyways, though. If they can find a way to keep Dunn until Norris and their number one pick this year arrive along with Strasburg, that's a first place caliber team.

The Marlins have the potential to be a first place caliber team, too. Everyone in this division does.
