Don't quote me on this, but I think I read somewhere about a small blister was developing on one of his fingers? Fisaro tweeted that JJ seemed to be looking at his figners in the first few innings, then said JJ developed a blister during ST so maybe he was worried about it.
August 8, 201016 yr Good to see Hanley delivering (...) since reverting back to his old batting stance. As I said about 10 days ago: My theory is that he thinks he's Manny. The deliberate Manny-like double bat-tap on the plate, takes a couple of Manny-like low swings and then he's constantly breaking his knees at the plate, bobbing up and down, constant movement. That was never part of his plate persona last year or before. http://www.marlinsba...me/page__st__42 He's not doing that crap anymore and suddenly he's starting to return to his old form. Although he is still grabbing his cup more, both at bat and in the field than the rest of the team combined.

August 9, 201016 yr I'd rather have seen JJ stay in there, but what can you do.... most managers make the same call, and particularly if Edwin thought JJ was tiring, which apparently he was. More a reflection of how I guess Leo isn't quite as good as he looked a while ago. Been a rough last month or so for him. Call up Ceda soon and start the closer audition? Hate to see them blow it in the 9th but that was a pretty damn exciting game. Sitting in the stands or in front of a TV, I would have to say 99% of us felt the same way. But Edwin went over and talked to him, as I would inagine he also did with Paulino. As fans we are going to have to accept the fact a move was done for the best concerning both the game and JJ.
