About f***ing time. The fact that it took this long for Blyleven is ridiculous.

Also, I had hoped Bags would have gotten a bit more support but 43% is pretty good for a first ballot.

Congrats Bert. I was fortunate to closely follow his career during his years with the Twins...so many years ago. I wish I could remember some specific stories, but Bert was quite the "prankster" during his playing days.

The biggest hurdle for Blyleven making the Hall was that he didn't win 300 games, he pretty much had all the other stats, strikeouts, shutouts etc..., shame it took as long as it did.

As for Alomar I will say that from everything I've read he made peace with Hershbeck and the two are friends with each other now. If he can forgive him, I guess I can too. He really was a great defensive player.

What held Blyleven back was his career winning percentage which is barely over .500

He only had 1 season in which he won 20 games

I would never call him domnant at any time of his career but always solid

Alomar has played for a lot of teams, but this is the hat he will be wearing on his plaque:

Pengui he will be going in as a BlueJay, he won 2 rings with them, he has already requested it, In fact when he got the call he was at the BlueJays main offices, with his Toronto Jersey there in the conference room

My guess Bags will get in but it may take him a few years...Barry Larkin and Jack Morris are likely the next one up

After Larkin gets in Trammell may start getting more due attention

BTW 2012 is gonna be a very weak class only player that becomes eligible that is worth consideration is Bernie Williams

I guess nobody got the joke.

Hint: Alomar allegedly has AIDS.

Oops my bad! However its a bad joke anyway dude!

I got the joke, just didn't find it funny. Not because I was sensitive to an AIDS joke or anything, I just felt it missed the comedy part.
