6/6 Post Game

I have a solution.

For every out the offense makes with RISP that isn't:

A) A productive Out

B) A lucky out (hard hit ball, lucky hop, bad call)

C) Made by Mike Stanton

the offending person will have to take Billy's fin up their hind quarters after the game.

For each out.

Worked for the 86 Mets.

FOLKS! Our losing streak is over! But you all must help me in order for this to be so! I had a great vision..a vision of a Marlin, who spoke to me! It said to chant the following before the Braves series and our troubles will be over. "The Marlins shall rise up and never look back" it said to me. So you must all help me chant the follow phrase and we all shall be victorious again!

We must all chant the following before tomorrow night's game:

Klaatu barada nikto!

timmaddog niw!

Klaatu barada nikto!

The vision was clear...then I woke up. But hey, it's worth a shot! What do we have to lose?

Our minds.

I like my forced Billy sodomy idea.

Ok well..still, I have nothing to lose

This is probably the losing streak that keeps them out of the playoffs yet again.

It has more to do with injuries and a complete lack of depth to replace those injured players.

Can't see this as anything more than a lame excuse. It's not like JJ was going to pitch in every game or that Hanley has been anything but pathetic this year, for whatever reason. 2 full months and ST. I'm more surprised he has gotten so many walks. Opposing pitchers should have been pitching to him until he showed he could actually hit consistently. Add in the fielding errors. We are better off with him on the DL right now. At least that gives us a bench player that can actually get into games. And maybe send him on that long trip to Jupiter to "rehab" and get some swagger back.

The market correction is underway.:(

Yeah, a big market team never loses 8 of 10.

That's not what I meant. I meant the Marlins are regressing to their mean like the stock market does sometimes. Although I thought of that double entendre myself.

This is probably the losing streak that keeps them out of the playoffs yet again.

Lack of depth is a criticism, not an excuse.

20% of your games started by somebody whose ability to go late in games assists your bullpen for the rest of the time. Replace him with random schmuck A and random schmuck B and next thing you know, your BP is getting overworked. ,

A superstar hitter that is struggling, but other teams still have to respect. Take him out, and your best bench player is not available late in games to swap in for pitchers or pull off double switches.

A LH platoon hitter, whose absense forces your best LF bench bat to play (and he has done quite well) means that you have less options late in the game to face RHP in pivotal spots.

We now have a pile of crap on the bench, a diminished lineup and no more than 4 starting pitchers - things are going to get tough.

This is probably the losing streak that keeps them out of the playoffs yet again.

"SS that is slumping." I call this much more than slumping. Have no idea what the reason(s) is, but this isn't just a slump. A slump dosen't last all of ST and 2 months into the season. Stanton has been in a slump. Infante has been in a slump. Cogs has been in a slump. And like I have said before, I would pitch to him until he shows he is out of this crap. Not pitch around him. Just give him your best stuff and take it from there.

We also went into this season thinking we had a pretty decent replacment in case of injury with Ozzy because of his production last year at this level. Small sample size last year with about 45 ABs, but now we are saying he is nothing with even a smaller sample size. Maybe he's in a slump.

One of JJ's starts was accomplished with a BP win. It hurt because of the BP getting over worked, but..... Hand just did a fine job in JJ's place. Not to mention our #2 and #3 pitchers have back pedaled a bit. I do agree that the pen is looking a bit tired at times. But it isn't because JJ isn't pitching every 5th game.

This is probably the losing streak that keeps them out of the playoffs yet again.

Totally missed this part. Gotta agree with it. But also we thought either we would have a GG caliber 3B to start the season, or at worst be up here by about mid June. AS break at the worst. We were riding the storm out, so to speak. That injury in his first minor league game hurt the big club more than anyone has given any attention to.

Hate to go by saying it's just been a series of bad luck, but that's much more acceptable to me than saying 1 guy that plays every 5 days and one guy that has done nothing for a total of 3 months is anything more than a poor excuse.

I'm not disagreeing with everything you are saying. I'm just looking at the reasons why it is true. And it's not because of 2 guys being hurt.

This is probably the losing streak that keeps them out of the playoffs yet again.

Yea. I know you hate people that look at the total picture and prefer people that bow down at your feet.

You're right, bob. This is not a better team when Hanley Ramirez and Josh Johnson are in the lineup. I wish I had your eyes so I could see "the total picture."
