With Kyle Skipworth being the exception.

It did singlehandedly kill Adopt-A-Marlin.

Yeah, I wish there was a way to keep that going but it's really only viable inside a signature I guess.

I've had signatures hidden on this board for years now. I didn't even know they were gone.

So they're still disabled? I went to uncheck the "Hide Signature" setting in my settings, but its gone too.

Signatures still exist but only in PM, from my understanding.

Ok. But what about the setting? I distinctly remember coming across it several months back and leaving it as it was since signatures were disabled. I went through every page of my profile settings and its not there. It wouldn't be on the Facebook or Twitter settings page would it?

I didn't check the disable box and the sigs still aren't showing.

Signatures are disabled on topics for everyone as I removed them from the skin. That setting is pretty useless actually but heat84 asked for it so there it is.

I am thinking of adding signatures back to the skin but setting everyone including guests to signatures off as default. Each user could then enable it if they'd like.

 

Thoughts?

The option of enabling or disabling sigs sounds good.

I will assume that'll be a popular option so I'll get started on getting it done. Add it to the list of things I said I'd have done already and didn't do:

 

1) Need to update the unread topic icon to mark topics you've posted in

2) Need to add the player avatars

3) Need to add signature option

For what it's worth, I'm glad that we haven't had signatures turned on. The board seems to move much faster.

That's part of the problem, I really don't want them back and this is seeming like a large undertaking to get it as an option. I've been trying to find a compromise but it looks like it'll be a lot of work for a feature I'm not much in favor of.

I think you should maybe consider text-only or constrained image sizes or something.

Text only is the compromise I'm considering.

Is there really that much of a demand to have them back at all? I would guess that most people are glad that the site loads at the fastest rate it ever has.
