October 16, 201114 yr Except C-USA sucks and they'll never go anywhere significant in that division. Not to mention we're talking full membership here... so that's inclusive of Big East basketball. That's what takes the cake. I'm not sure all the teams in those conferences off the top of my head, but don't forget that Pitt and UConn are going to the ACC, and they're obviously a big part of the Big East's strength in NCAABB. Syracuse and Pitt, not Uconn. Though... Big East could lose all 3 and they'd still have Georgetown, DePaul, Cinci, WVU, Rutgers, Vilanova, Notre Dame, Louisville, etc. It's the best basketball conference with or without Syracuse. Yeah, UCF's schedule will earn us no respect in C-USA. At least in football, we'd be able to earn a higher profile. Basketball we'll get absolutely destroyed in because the Big East is the Big East, but it's all about getting respect, and going to a BCS conference certainly does that, no matter how decimated that conference is becoming. 'Destroyed' being relative. We can still beat teams like USF in basketball. We beat teams like Florida last year as well. Chances are we will hold our own, but of course still not move very far. But the point is that over time that promotes a larger, more competitive basketball program.
October 17, 201114 yr Go UCF! Failures, how do you lose to Southern Methodist 38-whatever? Jesus. Congrats on blowing the #6 defense in Points Against with that meatball and arguably throwing away the season.
October 17, 201114 yr Author SMU is a pretty good team. They already knocked off TCU in their house this year.
October 17, 201114 yr That's cool every time you bring it up. This was the first year they coordinated the american flag thing... pretty sweet. Fun game.. 6 PM kickoffs = drunk fest.
October 17, 201114 yr GO BLUE Bump Bump :exercise Bump :exerciseBump? I should have and maybe they would have won, lol I'm bad :hammer
October 17, 201114 yr So Kansas State is 6-0. Has a coach ever turned around the same program twice? What a wizard Bill Snyder is.
October 17, 201114 yr SMU is a pretty good team. They already knocked off TCU in their house this year. For sure... but still UCF's defense is better than that. I'm not saying I expected them to win, but losing by 4 TDs is unacceptable in my eyes. They're stronger than that.
October 17, 201114 yr That's cool every time you bring it up. This was the first year they coordinated the american flag thing... pretty sweet. Fun game.. 6 PM kickoffs = drunk fest. I just meant the coordination. But yeah, it's awesome looking.
October 21, 201114 yr GO BLUE Bump Bump :exercise Bump :exercise Bump :pumpkin Bump :pumpkin Bump :pumpkin
October 21, 201114 yr Author How did UCF lose to a winless UAB team? Hell, there were less people in the stands than there usually is at a Marlins game.
October 21, 201114 yr Makes UCF fans suicidal. Don't ask me... all of the teachers here are calling for O'Leary's head, it's funny.
October 22, 201114 yr Hawks get a W over Indiana. Marvin McNutt is one of the best WRs in the land. Congrats to him for breaking the school WR TD record. Beat Minnesota next week to get to 3-1 in the Big Ten and then we have two big home games (Michigan, MSU) in a row. Still alive in the B1G championship but the defense has to improve because it has been uncharacteristically AWFUL
October 22, 201114 yr Author TCU 69 New Mexico 0 I think it's safe to say the interim coach isn't the guy. Have there been any rumors as to who they might bring in? Any assistants at good schools available?
October 22, 201114 yr TCU 69 New Mexico 0 I think it's safe to say the interim coach isn't the guy. Have there been any rumors as to who they might bring in? Any assistants at good schools available? The AD said recently that he would prefer a proven head coach either currently or unemployed. He then said that doesn't mean he wouldn't talk to an assistant. One rumor that just started going around is Houston OC Jason Phillips. Other rumored possible candidates have been: Mike Leach Rich Rodriguez Mike Belotti Arizona State OC Noel Mazzone Wisconsin running game coordinator Bob Bostad North Texas HC Dan McCarney Auburn assistant Trooper Taylor Louisiana Tech HC Sonny Dykes Texas State assistant Brad Franchione I'm just waiting to see who they pick. They can't possibly be worse than Mike Locksley.
October 22, 201114 yr Author I think Mike Leach would take the job. He's been begging for a job since leaving TT.
October 23, 201114 yr Author Oklahoma is getting their sh*t pushed in as well. Clemson and Stanford are loving this.
