9/11 ceremony won't include prayer or first responders

Featured Replies

The two front multi-trillion dollar wars we started as a result of the attacks were but a mere sideshow to their ultimate achievment: not having people say prayers at a thing.

9/11 had next to nothing to do with our country's tolerance of religion. It was motivated by our country's foreign policy of occupying Muslim soil and supporting states that "oppress" Muslims.

Wrong. They simply hated our freedoms.

The wars aren't multi-trillion... yet

Just because you have a fundamentally flawed understanding of Al Queda's motivations in the September 11 attacks doesn't mean we have to share your righteous indignation.

Also, your original post wasn't exactly constructive or conducive to starting a good discussion, so don't be upset when nobody gets all angry about your pet cause.

I think there is a stark difference between what the masterminds of the attack were motivated by, compared to why the attackers went through with it. I'm especially thinking of Muhammad Atta, who was an intelligent, educated young man, but was incredibly jaded by the ways of the modern world.

Just like in any good old capitalist system, the extremist Islamic terrorist lords take advantage of the poor (at their expense) to achieve their goals.

America's foreign policy doesn't help, but when compared to the typical European interaction with Islam - we are the nicest people ever. The Spanish, Dutch, French, Italians, Russians, British and Germans all seized Islamic nations - reducing them to, at best, protectorates.

Also, it's not like many European countries have not been the victims of attacks at the hands of Islamic extremists.

Also, one should not discount the possibility that no clergy was invited because they didn't want to invite any Muslim clergy. Too many times a "moderate" clergyman has been invited and next week there is video of him calling for the death of all Jews and the imposition of Sharia on the local community.

You do know that he lived it up here in South Florida in the days before the attacks. He had an apartment in Coral Springs in fact. He was a hypocrite. As probably were the rest of them.

Sorry Rays fan, but I read the post 5 minutes ago and I'm still laughing at El Penguino's joke. How does a Nascar race usually start anyway? Alot of crashes? Is that what PhxPhin meant? Watching cars drive in circles for 3 hours doesn't entertain me, so I wouldn't know.

As did a few of the hijackers.

Notably one springs to mind... lived in Boynton Beach. Was, according to his neighbors, an avid fan of the Florida Marlins.
