HOLY CENSORSHIP, BATMAN!

It isn't censorship, it is bullying and the Governor should be embarrassed about the actions of his staff.

It really is embarrassing that the Kansas governor's communications director monitors what citizens say about the governor (who has a 52 percent disapproval rating) on social media sites when their job is mainly to write speeches for the governor and things of that nature. And big ups to the girl for standing her ground and refusing to write a letter of apology for her harmless tweet. The school should be embarrassed as well.

I think it's perfectly reasonable to monitor what is being said about him publicly. However, the bullying, as EW said, is a big problem. And the principal's actions would have a chilling effect on [her] 1st Amendment speech, which is a huge problem.

LOL wtf

Maybe an assistant or someone of a lesser post could peruse comments on news articles about the governor and his policies, but not the Director of Communications. I have a family member who was a governor's communications director in the '90s, and I can't imagine him doing something like that. But it's a totally different decade now.

The ones that look bad here are the woman and the principal and the principal only if it's true that he demanded that she apologize... it seems that he may have suggested that she apologize and if that's the case then he did nothing wrong.

In honor of this girl I'm going to troll the hell out of Rick Scott on Twitter until someone from the governor's office tries to get Twitter to close my account.

Did anyone try to close her Twitter account?
