On Saturday morning, Bob Nightengale of USA Today reported that the A's will receive permission by February to move to San Jose.

The Oakland Athletics are again dismantling, this time in preparation for a move to San Jose that baseball has yet to formally consider, much less approve.

“We have no chance but to operate under the possible illusion that we’ll get a new stadium, A’s general manager Billy Beane said Friday. “It’s really the only answer for us.

Interesting.

So California still has 900 baseball teams. Okay.

Apparently the Giants are pissed because San Jose is a hotbed for Giants fans.

But I think it may even out because the Giants could attract some frustrated Oakland fans.

5 baseball teams, 4 basketball teams, 3 football teams, 3 hockey teams... f***ing California

Where exactly would they play, though? What park/stadium I mean.

Brand new, state-of-the-art stadium.

I hope they get an atrocity in CF too :devil

Just move the team to a state that doesn't have a team or to one that wouldn't 4 teams within an hours drive of each other (angels and dodgers) and ten ( giants an athletics). Seems Like overkill and now would be the perfect time to move them.

This was bound to happen.

New Orleans Athletics?

They already have football and basketball so why not?

People forget that California is by far the most populated state in the country. The markets that have two teams are certainly populated enough to support them.

The Bay Area can easily support two teams; a lot of the troubles the A's have been facing are similar to those that the Marlins endured in terms of lease arrangements/revenue.

San Diego County: 3,000,000+

Los Angeles County: 9,800,000+

Orange County: 3,000,000+

San Francisco / Oakland: 7,000,000+

More than enough population for all those teams

man, the A's are pathetic. trading Andrew Bailey for Josh Reddick? oof

That's "pathetic?"

yeah. it is.

no. it is not.

Compelling arguments fella's.

I so want the A's to leave Oakland and go to San Jose. Just say bye to the city saying it can't work and bolt to San Jose. Even if MLB says 'NO' just do it anyway. Force their hand.
