March 1, 201214 yr I highly doubt that 87,000 different individuals registered for this. When people say they got rejected, it means that they probably got rejected on all 6 e-mail accounts that they used. Having said that, I suspect it's pretty damn likely that those people haven't heard yet have been picked (unless you are a total dumbass and mis-typed your e-mail address when entering).

To be honest, I thought I had misspelled my email or something until I read that others here haven't heard back either. Maybe I'm still a dumbass but it's a little less likely all three of us are.
March 1, 201214 yr I think it's dumb that the Marlins allowed season ticket holders to double dip (and consequently put the tickets on Stub Hub at a huge mark-up) instead of opening them up for more individual sales. My Marlins' ticket salesperson actually used it as a sales pitch, and that's exactly why they did it. It gave people a bigger incentive to buy even a 10 or 20 game ticket plan, you could pay for half the plan simply by selling extra opening day seats... Pretty smart, actually. It was more than just Opening Day. It was also the Yankees games. And we were able to get more tickets for any of the other games before they go on sale. A good example because of their draw, the Red Sox tickets. Those that did get some type of package should get some extra benefits thrown in. It's been for a very long time Opening Night was going to be a "Big Ticket" item here. Heck, every Opening Day has been a good draw. The new pond just seriously expanded that draw, partly because of the limited seating. Those that don't live here or have done nothing about it up til now really have no right to complain. A blind person could see something like this coming. Ya snooze, ya lose. Man up, buy them from StubHub. Or sit at home watching the festivities on TV and complain about it not being fair. This wouldn't be your season ticket holder elitism shining through again, would it? Of course not... Nope. That was only in your mind. And a couple others. But what is funny is that this argument was put out there first by someone that dosen't live here and most likely had no intentions of going to the game in the 1st place, This wouldn't be because that person is trying to start up some trouble again, is it? Of course not...
March 1, 201214 yr I think some people will bite at the upper deck seats in the $100-150 range, but I'm guessing that some of those lower bowl seats will have to come down a lot. I don't think there will be enough takers at $300+ per seat. I'm not biting until it reaches $50 for upper deck I doubt it will go that low...that's the regular price for upper deck for opening day, at least for the extra tickets I got. Our extra ones were in 326 and we paid $93 with the service charges for the pair. So I doubt they come down.
March 1, 201214 yr still no sign of a yay or nay email for me. @ hypebeast... I have to use that on someone soon Yea, it is a pretty good one. Refers to all of us that use the free enterprise system, I guess. And we will hear it again. If/when we make the post season, those tickets will be handled the same way. It was in the past. Willing to bet most, if not all, teams do that. But I'm willing to listen to a better idea. Just sell them as usual with the rest of single game tickets? Won't work. By the time people waiting in line get to the window the game will have sold out. Even for those that stood in line overnight. Hear that all the time. Mainly thanks to on-line buying. When you have very limited seating there are always going to be alot of folks that won't get what they want. Maybe open the windows an hour early (like RDS did this year for ST games) for the local people to get a shot at them. But that's still gonnal leave alot of local folks throwing tantrums and hurts those fans from out of state that really want to attend. I think for the FO this may be the best way. Some are going to get them for their friends, and they have to know some are going to use the free enterprise system to make a few $$$. They also did let those with full season ticket packages in at least 2010 double up on the amount they could buy for 2012. Funny no mention of a problem back then. And it was pretty well publisized.
March 1, 201214 yr So, that means there aren't going to be any tickets for opening day available on March 3rd when single games tickets go on sale?
March 1, 201214 yr Well, won't matter if I won this lottery or not, I have an awesome friend who got me 2 tickets

Of course not... Saying from your pedestal that season ticket holders deserve special benefits while scoffing at others with phrases like "ya snooze ya lose" is the very definition of elitism. Your failure to recognize that is why you are ridiculed by much of this board. No intention of going to the game? I guess I need to inform my credit card company about a fraudulent airline charge on my statement.
March 7, 201214 yr You can call and they'll check a list for you. I suggest doing so. What number do I call?
