23 pitches last night. Not unheard of for a reliever to pitch the next day. He hadn't worked much the past couple of weeks before last night. He basically went a week in which he threw 4 pitches and then had the last couple of days off before last night, as well.

 

Maybe he's thrown a lot in the bullpen or something.
