Adam Lind

Featured Replies

The Marlins will likely discuss Adam Lind, according to Juan C. Rodriguez of the Sun Sentinel.

"But don't look for an aggressive pursuit," Rodriguez adds. He's speculating here and not reporting, but if a team were to look into taking Lind off Toronto's hands, Miami would be about as good a fit as any. The Fish shipped the disappointing Gaby Sanchez to Triple-A Saturday and now have a massive hole at first, assuming Logan Morrison isn't shifted to the position immediately. Lind is hitting .186/.273/.314 through 132 plate appearances this season and finished with a brutal .251/.295/.439 slash line in 2011. He was sent to the minors Thursday and placed on waivers the next day. He's owed over $10 million through the 2013 season.

  • 4 years/$18M (2010-13), plus 2014-16 club options

  • signed extension with Toronto 4/3/10, replacing 1-year, $0.41M deal for 2010
  • $0.6M signing bonus
  • 10:$0.4M, 11:$5M, 12:$5M, 13:$5M, 14:$7M club option ($2M buyout), 15:$7.5M club option ($1M buyout), 16:$8M club option ($0.5M buyout)

I like his home run numbers. But almost 10M contract remained. That's not good.

doesnt toronto pay that regardless? obviously if we have to pay him we aren't getting him.

We don't need another guy that is so streaky and strikes out all the time in Lind...Carlos Lee would be perfect fit. EL Caballo!!!

Except Lind is like ten years younger.

there was an article about him on sbnation.

basically he's had one good year and has blown since then, with peripherals getting progressively worse. he's also a liability on defense.

no thanks.

Not looking to the future. This team is built to win right now. Give me two years of Lee. We have enough young guys on the team we could use a vet that can still hit.

I think it's funny that people complain about Gaby, yet some of those same people are looking forward to guys who are basically Gaby, only worse defensively and making a lot more money.
