Can we still turn this AROUND?

Featured Replies

Well guys looks like the Hanley trade had more to it than just numbers in all aspects. But can we still turn things around? Can the front office still get us maybe Greinke? Has all chances for this season gone down the drain? Would it make sense to pursue major league pieces for this or next year? Or are we slowly becoming the Marlins of old with a different name? I'd like to hear some input here cause I am officially in PANIC MODE. :stormy

EDIT: Don't think this was thread worthy but please bare with me.

Until Yelich and Fernandez are ready... this team doesn't seem to have enough talent to even compete in the division much less the NL.

Yes, but something has got to get done. I mean, if we are just "mixing things up" like they said than I'm assuming we are going to pursue other options, maybe at worst in the offseason.

I'll wait until the offseason. If they spend wisely on bats and MAYBE a guy like Greinke then I might have faith.

Still, spending on pitching is risky unless it's a workhorse like Buerhle. I honestly think 2014 is the earliest they can realistically compete.

We are currently sellers, and rightfully so.

At best this offseason (like last year) we are going to throw money at some aging guys who have plenty of downside.

I think its time to stand back and see that this team is inept from the ownership to the front office to the clubhouse.

Obviously they've taken a step back

This will make sense only with a few decent free agent pickups........Bourn, Upton, etc. They've got the money to spend with the salary they've cleared. We'll see what they do.

The rest of the season to me is all about how our "major league" ready pickups perform on the mound, whether Lomo can get his head out of his arse and start hitting for average as he should, and if JJ can right the ship. Other than that, who cares.

Here's what I mean...

Can WE still turn this season around? - No, there's nothing we can do.

Can we STILL turn this season around? - After all of of the sh*t, is it even possible to turn this season around?

Can we still TURN this season around? - Stop yelling.

Can we still turn THIS season around? - Stop talking about next season, let's still consider THIS one!

Stop aguing seblantics. This is serious.

If they can get Stanton healthy, find a bat in this year's weak FA class and grab up Greinke to make the pitching rotation JJ, Buehrle, Greinke and Nolasco while bolstering the BP, you could still have a decent team. The question is, will LoMo become the next Hermida and can we pick up some bats through trades and FA signings?
