What's the protocol for a tie in the division title? There's a possibility of that happening one or two times in the AL.

Is there a 1-game tiebreaker to decide what team does not have to play the WC 1-game playoff? That's pretty ridiculous if it's the case.

Pretty sure that's how it works. Why's it ridiculous? There has always been a 1-game tiebreaker to determine division winners. And now with the added importance of winning the division, having it be determined by anything else would be kinda silly.

A 163rd game to tie-break the division title is fine, but I don't like the idea of having to subject the losing team to a second one game playoff in a row. I know it's the consequence of not winning the division, but it still seems more like a football tournament than baseball. I'd say it's pretty likely that something like that happens in the next couple of years--perhaps a tie for the wild card spot.

I think the 1-game playoffs add a lot of excitement and intensity. I do see where you're coming from, though.

I like 1-game playoffs in football, but not in a sport that has a five man rotation and plays 162 regular season games to decide what is the best team.

David Ross asked for time out, the umpire gave it to him VERY late, the pitch was thrown, he swung and missed.

Strike 3! But, no. He was given time.

Therefore, he got another swing.

He homered on the next pitch.

Allen Craig makes it a 1 run game with an RBI double, 2nd and 3rd 0 outs after a Chipper Jones throwing error.

4th inning.

6-2 on an infield single, runner scores from second base.

Good hustle by both runners.

1 out in the top of the 7th.

My goodness.

I'm not giving play-by-play, just scoring plays lol.

I'm just wanting some discussion. Treat it sort of like a game thread for the entire postseason :)

Mujica!

We can get the play by play from ESPN or MLB.com.

Anyway, it sucks that a 94 win team might get eliminated by an 88 win team in just one game.

No worse when the same happens after 5 or 7 games.

Of course it's worse. 1-game is a pure crapshoot in baseball time. 5-7 games is just enough (7 is better) because it allows the team to actually use its rotation.
